When are you old enough?

When are your daughters old enough to shave? my mom let me shave when i was twelve but my ten year old asked me last night if she could start shaving. she said that all the girls in 5th grade shave except for the losers...she's already wearing a bra-she's starting to develop little skeetie bites as i call them and she says they are sore...me being flat-chested am clueless so went ahead and got her a bra. she's growing up so fast...my little baby....waaahhhhh

I'd say if she wants to let her. I started when everyone at school started talking about it. My mom started me out using old razors of my dads so I didn't cut myself.

Peer pressure is so awful isn't it? I remember my mom letting me at about 13 or so I think, (didn't really need to shave, just wanted to because of the others). You can talk with her about it and let her know that once she does it, there is no going back. She'll need to shave for the rest of her life. That's what my mom told me and if I remember right, I did wait another 2 or 3 months, but then she let me.

I allowed my daughter to shave when she was in 5th grade. 5th grade down here is the last of the elementary years since 6th is junior high. After the first couple of weeks, she realized what a pain it was to shave. She's doing good if she shaves once a week now.

thank you for your replies....i've been thinking about letting her use that new Veet shaving system with the plastic blade and depilatory cream-or do you think that would be to strong for her skin?

Have her try a sample area first. I would suggest her first time be on a Friday night, so if there is any kind of reaction, she won't be embarassed to go to school.

My situation is kind of similiar. My 15 year old son just started shaving early summer. Doesn't need to all the time, but it's just another sign he is growning up even more. This is hard on us mothers how did our mothers do it?

Let her use a good body lotion after shaving.
Good luck.
