Monitor information
Okay all you computer people I need your help!!!!
My husband said he would get me a new monitor for my computer for Christmas. Price limit is $300.00 Can I get one for that? I would prefer a flat screen. I have a Dell computer..do I have to have a Dell monitor? I've never bought "just" the monitor before. I would like to have at least a 19". Is that big enough? I checked the Dell site, but I know nothing about monitors and there are some that say LCD and others that say something else. I HAVE NO CLUE!!!! I could probably pay a little more (I have some money stashed...lol) Can anyone help me?

I've bought items from Tigerdirect a few times, and have had no trouble with them. They have good prices on monitors... some even bigger than you mentioned, that are LCD (Flat front and nice narrow profile) that would be compatible with your Dell.
If you prefer to buy at a brick and mortar, I'd check out Best Buy. Lucky duck! I'd love a nice new monitor!

I found one on the Dell website. I haven't ordered it yet though. A 20 inch widescreen flat panel for $289.00
It will cost another $29.00 for a speaker bar...you'd think the darn thing would come with speakers.

I'd check Best Buy or Office Max too. I have a 19" flat screen and a 14" flat screen, would definitely go with the larger. Both of ours have the speakers built in. The one I am using right now is the 19" it's a Westinghouse from Best Buy. I like it.

Janet, my hubby got me a 19" flat panel LCD montior for the computer I use the most that had the 14". My new one is a Hanns-G, with speakers on the bottom edge of the screen. Here's the one I have, only it's black, not silver. http://www.officedepot.com/ddSKU.do?...5509&An=browse
In the store, it was $209 with a $90 mail-in rebate for a net price of $119 plus tax, of course. I have the receipt and have to send in the rebate. The rebate form says it has to be purchased by 12/31/06 to qualify. Don't know if you would be interested in this one at all, but wanted to let you know. It's a really good deal for a nice monitor. I've never heard of Hanns-G, but don't think there are too many manufacturers of these, and it came with a 3 year parts and labor warranty. Hope you find one you like!!!!!!
