Gonna relax if it kills me! teeheehee
I bought myself a bottle of J. Bavet Brandy and plan to get myself totally slopping drunk. I haven't been drunk since before I got PG with my 20 yr old, so it shouldn't take much. Because of the meds I'm on for my heart and such, I just don't drink! So I've decided I'm going to give up my meds for a day and see if getting too drunk to feel stress might help. LOL
What's really funny is that my Mother, who herself doesn't drink, advised me to try this! So anyone want to come by and get schnockered with me? LOL

Be careful, don't get so schnockered that you make yourself sick. Don't want you bowing down to a porcelain god.

It's bad enough to see a drunk man....a drunk woman looks horrible! Please reconsider and don't get schnockered. Try some Yoga or something else besides getting drunk. OR smoke a joint. At least you won't get sloppy and you'll remember what you did the next day...LOL AND it's so relaxing....at least it was about 20 years ago...oh for the good ole days...

Brandy bad, makes you very sick & you'll feel like s*** the next day. Try clear liquor like vodka or rum, dark liquors make you feel worse Prepare, Prepare, Prepare - drink 2 times your normal intake of water & take 2 advil an hour before imbibing. I've also heard a glass of milk right before you drink keeps you from throwing up, but I'm lactose intolerant so I've never tried this. Drink slowly, as soon as you start to feel drunk, stop drinking & start drinking water. Do not smoke cigarrettes (a joint is okay ) while drinking it will make your headache worse the next day. Drinking can be a good way to let go of some tensions, it'll bring your inhibitions down so you can deal with some issues you might of been to proud to, but if you get hammered & throw up or have a really bad hangover all the good benefits are cancelled out by the bad. Be careful & do it will someone you trust to see you at your most vulnerable. |

Janet, if it were legal, I'd go for the joint in a heartbeat. Since it's not, I refrain.

That was a long time ago for me...really longer than 20 years because it was while I was in my early 20's. It was so relaxing. Use to love sitting outside at night and gazing at the stars...and boy....were those crickets really loud...LMAO!!!!! Getting drunk always made me feel bad the next day and I could never remember what a fool I made of myself...but others reminded me....LOL I don't do either anymore. I do have beer once in awhile when we go out to eat, but I'd be embarassed to death if someone I knew ever saw me drunk now, so two is my limit and most of the time it's only one. I don't ever want someone to tell my son..."your mom sure was drunk." No way!!!!

I'm pretty straight laced. I've never been drunk (actually I've only had a drink once and it was very small and was mixed with something else) and I've never smoked a joint or done drugs. The worst thing that I've ever done (besides shooting off my big mouth) was I got pregnant in high school.

There are other things I'd recommend besides getting drunk or high to relax, but I'm a goody-two shoes; don't drink, would rather die than smoke, and never done any drugs, not to mention I'm dead serious about staying pure til I get married.
My secret to relaxation is the gym and a good comedian. Work out, take a hot shower, and watch someone that'll really make you laugh. If you get your muscles to the point that they tingle a bit when you sit down it gives you a sense of relaxation that can't be beat. Not to mention if you take advil before and after you work out you tend to not be sore the next day. But if you do choose the drunk route take lots of advil, you can take like 30 before you even begin to have any kinds of adverse reactions, but you gotta watch tylenol and acetaminophen, they cause liver failure (found that out the other day from an EMT)

I've always been quite open with my son and he knows I will discuss anything and everything with him. That is one reason why, when he was in the sixth grade and they had the "talk" with him, he brought all the information home and wanted me to explain it further. He has even asked me a couple of years ago just exactly what is a "rubber." I explained what it is, how it is used and the pros and cons. I truely believe that is why he is such a great young man...he will ask us anything...and we answer as honestly as we can. I would rather he learn and hear these things from us instead of the "boys."
