My son is in hospital
My 17 year old was rushed to hospital on Sunday evening with a collapsed lung, he had been well no cough's or colds. We had just finished our evening meal and he complained of a pain in his shoulder hurting decided maybe he had sat wrong as he had been on the computor all day finishing his school work so told him to take a tablet and sit quiet. He is then throwing up pale and sweaty so called the dr out and the next thing we are in hospital and he is having his lung drained. They think that as he is so thin and had a growth spurt ( 2inches since dec) that his lung could not cope?. He still has the drain in and hopeing the hole in the lung mends it self or he will have to go to London for an operation to have it repaired he now feels well in his self but so bored in hospital. I cannot belive how quick this came on and thank god I was here at the time, will not want to let him out of my sight when he gets home. I hope we have good news when I go in later. |

OMG, how scary for you and your son!!! I'll say a prayer for him and please keep us updated on his condition. I worry too about my son, he is 16 and so skinny. I keep an eye on him healthwise all the time. That God you were with him with this happened.
Maybe you can rent him a laptop or some videos while he's in the hospital or find other ways to keep him from getting bored. Poor guy, I hope he's back to his ole self real fast!!

Oh my gosh!! I hope your son's lung heals on its own so he's able to come home soon. That's very scary but I'm glad he's okay. You are both in my thoughts.

Thankyou all for your goodwishes, we went in last night and he is feeling better his xray shows his lung is inflating well and if it is the same today will be able to come home no opp thankfully. They have told us he has a 30/50% chance this could happen again in his lifetime but at least we will know what it is. I thank god I was with him when it happened and seeked help straight away.
He has tv and games with him but as he is in a high dependency unit there is a lot of noise ect going on so he finds it hard to concentrate. Again thankyou all. xx |
