DH not talking to me...

I got a tattoo...this is #4 for me. they are all in discreet places. I went with 2 friends of mine to get theirs and decided to get the one I have been wanting.

He is so mad at me for getting it. he is begging me to have it removed. it is a cross. not big, it is 2.5 inches tall. between my shoulder blades. he wants me to have it removed...I said "what about the other 3?" he said "no, just that one...you had the other 3 when I met you."

whatever

I don't see me getting it removed. He knew when he met me that I liked them...but not to the point to where they would be covering my body...but I do like to have a few here and there. He knew when he met me that I had them...He accepted them. well...here we are now and he is freaking out about it and to the point that he won't speak to me at all. you know, it is not like I did this just to piss him off. I didn't do it out of rebellion...I did it because I wanted it.

well...he is pissed. I dont know what to say to him. I guess I will just ride it out and know that I better not get another one

Hmm... i dont really know what to say to you on this one girl, apart from giving him time, to accept the tattoo... maybe, in time to come, he will like it? On one hand, i would say, its your body, and if you like it, go for it, but on the other hand

Im personally not a tattoo fan, nor is my hubby, neither of us have any tattoo's or piercings exept my ears.

I have tattoos & like them. I'm wanting another one on my toe. I liked the cross, you showed a picture of on YT, is that the one you got. I'm not sure my hubby is thrilled about the thought of me getting another on my toe, but it's my body & if i want it so be it. I would just tell him that it makes you happy to express yourself in this way. Maybe mention that there are things that make him happy that you don't particularly care for, but you love hm & want him to be happy. I'd give it time, the shock may wear off. He just may be upset that he wasn't consulted about it before it happened. Since it's descreet & adorable I don't see what the big deal is.

P.S. I'm sending your shirt out today.

Well I am not a big fan of tattoos either and I do forbid my kids to get them. But you are an adult , and I guess you should have run it by him. But hey its your body... Just realize as you get older they do fade and everything does shift south. So think about it for the right reasons. Sorry I am no help.

I would guess that you're husband is upset because you did it with friends and he didn't even know about it. The other 3 you had before but since you're married he probably would have liked to be informed or maybe with you when you had it done. You kinda' left him out. I would have been upset if my husband did something like that to me and I didn't know anything about it until it was already done. JMO

i really didn't think it would bother him that much. i knew he would never get one but I didn't realize he would flip out if I got another one. We are fine now...we have spent the entire day together and it has not been brought up and we have had a great day. I think he will be ok in a few days.

I didn't do it thinking "let's see how mad I can make Jim."...I did it because it is something I have been wanting to do and it is just part of who I am.

I have many friends with tatoos, and I've considered getting one at different times, but what's always stopped me is the idea that with age the skin doesn't look so good, and a rose tatoo might turn into a wilted flower, or a sun might "set" and accent the affects of gravity. LOL Having worked in a nursing home, I've seen some rather odd ones.

I hope this is resolved quickly for you and your hubby, Mandee. Sometimes men can be moody. Hopefully he will come around. Good luck!

I don't mind tatoos as long as they are tasteful. I have often thought of getting one but I worry about the same thing that TInk does. Plus, I am worried about how painful it would be. Just give him some time and see how things go. I would think having it removed would be more costly and more painful that getting it in the first place. Good luck!

I think the design of your tatoo is very nice. I myself have two of them. A small one around my ankle and one on my lower back. I doubt I will get anymore.

Hopefully your husband will in time accept what you have done. It's not like you can wash it off. Who knows, maybe it's not so much the tatoo but the reasoning behind it, jealousy of you being out w/ your friends, etc. Who knows as I can only guess.

Either way I hope the both of find peace again.

Hope things are better between you and your husband concerning the tatoo.

I agree with Tink. I have NEVER seen a tatoo on an older man or woman that I thought looked good. IMO it definitely looks worse on an older woman. That's why I've always stopped myself from getting one.

thank you. yes, things are better but he still hates the fact that i got a tattoo. he still wants me to have it removed. i went for a consultation and i just dont think i can do it. it takes 7-10 treatments and they are said to be extremely painful and you have to wait a month between treatments. i just dont see me doing that. plus...the treatments are $250 EACH!!! so...um...NO...i'm not going to do it. plus...i have to wait until the tattoo is 4 months old before they will do the treatments and by then, he will be used to it

thanks for asking tho we are really doing fine...we have had a GREAT week, friends and family have been in town and we have really enjoyed that.
