NO Water!!!!
Our entire city is without water this morning and have been since last night. A water main broke sometime around dark yesterday and word is they won't have the parts to begin repairs until later on this morning. No water = No school so the boys are home in the bed asleep while here I sit at work! I work in a hospital and it closes for nothing. But I'm on the administrative side so hopefully, when the higher up bosses get in, they may send us home because - you guessed it - NO BATHROOMS!!! Thankfully, I live in the county and our water supply comes from a well and we weren't affected by this. The city's main concern right now is fire safety for the city, they are urging everyone to use caution and be mindful so a fire doesn't start. They hope to have the line repaired by this evening and everything will be back to normal tomorrow but.....they aren't saying for sure so, if it's not repaired by this evening, there may still be no school tomorrow.

We have well water too, nothing like it!! We only have to worry about losing power then the pump won't work.

And it just keeps getting better (insert sarcasm in that statement)!!! With no water, that means no a/c so it is beginning to get rather warm in here. And absolutely no toilets for patients or employees! They have brought in port-a-potties for employees to use that they had to get from 50 miles away because the casinos in town got all the ones that were here in town for rent. I have runninng water AND a sanitary bathroom at my home but no word from the powers that be if we are going to get to leave early (those of us not involved in direct patient care). The city hopes to have the water back on by 5:00 today but there are no guarantees!!! I don't know which is worse - being without power for 10 days with Katrina or this situation now which hasn't even been 24 hours yet!!!
