Cat plays furry grim reaper at nursing home
Oscar the cat has predicted 25 deaths by curling up next to patient in final hours.
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/19959718/ Would you want him there? Or toss him out?

Thank goodness these people are pretty much out of it during the last four hours when this cat comes to lie with them. It would freak me out to think ...ah ho, the cat is with me!

I think that the fact that the family members are called in plenty of time to come and be with their family member before they die is a really good thing. The staff would have a good idea of when to tell them to come because of the cat letting them know.
I know that when my Dad was ill the one thing that worried me was that I wasn't going to be there for him when he died. He had emphysema and was in and out of the hospital so much for that and other things. It ended up that he was alone at home and had a heart attack. Not being there for him is one of my biggest regrets but, on the other hand, he didn't suffer for very long which was also a worry with emphysema.

I'd want him there. Max too. When I was in labor with my daughter, my 2 cats laid in bed with me and my Itish Setter sat on the floor right next to the bed. It was such a comfort.
