Were you happy with the results in Iowa?

I was! I think an Obama/Huckabee race would be the best possible option and I was happy to see that these two came out on top in the first official vote. I think it would be a clean campaign, no mudslinging, that would really be about the issues. I also feel that both of these candidates truly wants to make change. Also, as far as I can tell, they are both awesome speakers so at least the speeches wouldn't be boring, lol!

I was so happy that Obama not only won, but won by a pretty decent margin, and that Edwards was second. I'd be so sad if Hilary won the Democratic nomination. I don't think she's at all what our country needs. It'll be interesting to see if her huge loss in Iowa will effect the rest of her campaign.

Anyone else follow this stuff?

Angie, I agree with you.
I feel that the Clintons were an embarrassment in office before... why would we want them back there?
Obama has some very good ideas and seems to be a decent man. His race doesn't affect my thinking on him one way or the other. I don't find him to be my ideal candidate, but given his competition, I think he's the best of the lot.

It seems that losing in Iowa usually is a kiss of death, so in this case I'm hoping that holds true for Hillary. I was surprised and relieved that she fell as far behind as she did there.

Did you see the debate tonight on ABC? I missed the Republican portion. Did not know it was on until we joined it after the Democratic portion had already begun. I hate to say it, but if this debate were all I had to make a decision, I'd have to say Hillary looked the best with Edwards second and Obama third. Richards should just give it up. I really like Obama, and of the three is/was my preference, but he kept saying "I think...". He'd say things like "The people in Iowa were trying, I think, to tell us...." I'd rather hear him say with more assurance, "The people of Iowa were trying to tell us...." The very frequent use of "I think" made him look uncertain. Once I picked up on this, the "I think" became distracting. He stuttered some too, like he was unsure what to say. Hillary and Edwards came off appearing much more sure of themselves.

It's kinda scary. I'm anxious to see what happens in New Hampshire.

I like Ron Paul, even though he doesn't look Presidential. Guess we'll just have to see how things shake out.

I kept wondering why no one was pointing out that for the last, hmm most of my adult years either a Clinton or Bush has been in office. Time for some new blood. It looks like someone took notice.

I was very pleased with the results. I thought it would be a Hillary/Guilliani election.
I have to check out Huckabee now. I

I'm glad we're narrowing it down so that I can learn about the people who are really running. It seems like a huge crowd right now, but I have liked Obama all along.

Oh my, I don't think I could decide between those two! For me, it would come down to who I want to vote AGAINST, not who I want to vote FOR.

Huckabee is my favorite of the Republicans. I'm sure you can find some of his speeches on YouTube or you could visit his website.

I didn't see that debate Marilyn. I did see the speeches just after the results of the caucus were in and he did a great job with that one. Much better than the others. Hilary even said something to the effect of maybe republicans who have "seen the light" would vote democrat. I was shocked that she would say something like that. She was trying to make a joke, but still...I prefer bipartisanship over rep/dem hostility...there's good and bad to both parties. The individual is what really counts and I thought that joke was out of line. Just my opinion though.

I'm excited about New Hampshire as well.
