My Mom's Critical
Hey, I hope you are all doing well.
My Mom's gallbladder ruptured and she has been in the hospital since last Thursday (in LA). She had a 6-hour surgery on Friday and is on respirator and in "very critical" condition. The short of it: a huge stone went out of her gall bladder (through the walls), into the her small intestine (through the walls), moved down and was blocking, therefore everything (bile, etc.) was leaking into her body cavity and making an infection. She's at a 30% survival rate and now her heart's acting up. Hubby and I drove home last night, I slept in my bed instead of the hospital waiting room, and now I'm heading back. Red Cross is bringing my son in from Iraq, so hubby will be picking him up at the AP. Please keep my Mother and family in your prayers.

oh my gosh! I am sooo sorry! Your poor mom, I can't even imagine what she's been through already. I am saying special prayers for her, for you and that your son makes it home safely. What an awful lot for you to be dealing with at once. Try and stay positive. I know 30% doesn't sound good, but someone has to be in that 30% let's hope it's your mom. {{{hugs}}}

Sandy, I'm so sorry your Mother is going through such a hard time right now. What a tragic turn of events to happen with the stone and now an infection. I'll say a prayer for your mother, that she'll recover quickly from this.

Wish we had an update on how Sandy's mother is doing. It makes me sad for one of our members to be going through something like this.

My Mom's gone!
My Mom crashed on Sunday morning. She was on life support for about 60 hours and we let her go. We had a little country funeral and burial for her today. I am totally exhausted. It was good to see many relatives and friends, but I just want to crawl under my covers and be alone. I need to spend time with my doggies.
The docs just couldn't get control of the infection from the gallbladder surgery. She had about three good days, but it was too much for her. I was scheduled for the foot surgery tomorrow, but cancelled all that until I get my land legs back. I hope you're all well and I'll try to get caught up on everything tomorrow.
