Road Trip!!!!
I'm leaving this morning to go see my best friend in Red Deer, Alberta. I've never been there before but she absolultely loves it so I'm excited to go According to my GPS it will be about a 5.5 hour drive.
The big reason for going is bridesmaid dress shopping for her wedding. Oh my gosh, my best friend AND shopping on one weekend? It's going to be the best weekend ever! She and her fiance just moved into a new townhouse so they're also having a housewarming party tomorrow night while we're all there. I'm a little worried about what to get them though... They've both lived on their own for at least 6 years and have everything they need (as far as I know). Plus I've never seen the place. Do you think a couple bottles of wine would be good enough? Last time I saw her we polished off a bottle of wine before her fiance joined us, and he was bugging us about how he didn't get any So I thnk I'll need more than one! If anyone has any ideas please let me know soon! I'm going to finish packing and leave to go to the store for some last-minute things in about an hour

I had an AWESOME time in Red Deer It's really a pretty city. The drive took me almost 6 hours (... okay and I was speeding a bit). I'm used to driving over flat land, because that's all Saskatchewan is But about an hour and a half past the Alberta border, all of a sudden the road just dropped off and for about 5 minutes it was a windy road through some pretty cool landscape. I took some pictures through my windshield while I was driving. Then it went right back uip to flat land for the rest of the drive. It wasn't too hard to find Cherelle and Scott's house, and when I got there the other bridesmaid Jeni was there already.
We went out for supper and Scott insisted on paying. Then he took us girls shopping I bought a fabulous pair of Steve Madden heels. Later that night a few of Scott's friends came over and we all went out to this night club, and between Scott and his friends, our drinks were paid for all night. I couldn't even refuse, because they'd notice one of our drinks getting low and they'd be right back with another round! The next morning Scott's sister came in from Edmonton with her husband and new baby and all of us girls went shopping for bridesmaid dresses. We found the dress within 10 minutes. It's such a cute dress and it will look good on everyone. While we were there, Cherelle put on her wedding dress for us and it is absolutely gorgeous, she looked stunning, and I honestly felt like crying! I love seeing her so glowing and happy, she totally deserves it. Then we kind of went shopping for the rest of the day When we got back to Cherelle and Scott's house, we popped in the last season of Sex and the City and drank cosmopolitans People started showing up for the housewarming and Scott started barbequing. I got to meet the best man for the wedding, and they definitely weren't kidding about his size. He's a good 5 inches shorter than me! And since our bridesmaid dresses are shorter, we've decided to all wear the same shoes. For my sake, we're only going with a 1-inch heel I told the best man to please wear platforms with fish swimming in them. He was a really fun guy, everyone I met was really nice and fun! Anyways, this morning Scott took us all out for breakfast and then I was on my way home. It was a long weekend and a lot of driving but it was totally worth it! I'll add pictures right away... Oh yeah and I went with two bottles of wine for a housewarming gift. I'm glad I didn't do anything too extravagant because only one other person brought a gift at all, and it was a gift certificate for a housewares store When I gave them the wine Cherelle said "Oh you didn't have to get anything! Just coming all the way here is good enough for me!"
