Square Foot Garden
We planted strawberries today. It's actually a bit late to plant them, but oh well, it was fun. I'll plant my tomatoes and peppers tomorrow - it's supposed to be in the 30's tonight.

and a couple more
The tomatoes will go on the end closest to the front of the first picture in the post. That is the north end of the garden - I'll put them there so they don't shade the shorter plants. So, it will be tall on one end and short on the other end. You may notice a scalloped little green wire fence - that is to keep little yorkie feet OUT OF THE GARDEN!!! Oh yes, they were a BIG help!

Wow!! Your little garden is really coming along!! Is it too early for tomatoes and peppers? They prefer to be put out when it's warmer or if you put them out now, take a gallon milk carton and cut the bottom off and place the top part over the plant to help keep it warm. We used to do that when we put our tomatoes out early. Keep us posted on how it's doing!!

Hi Diane! We have our tomatoes and peppers, and I'm just waiting till tomorrow when it will be warmer (Tues night) than last night or tonight. If it stays above 45, they can be left uncovered. It is supposed to be below 45 tonight, but above the rest of the week. So I'm going to go ahead and put them out. I want them out early so that I can harvest some tomatoes (hopefully) before we leave for vacation in mid/late May. I know I'll have to cover them (hubby has 5 gallon buckets) a few times, but at least they will have a head start!

That is terrific! I can't wait to see things growing. What a clever idea.
