Weekend Pix
Hey, I was out and about a little bit this weekend and wishing I had my good camera with me, but did not. So here are a few pix with the cell phone.
Gary and I went to a "chuck wagon" gathering. Unfortunately, the rain decreased the numbers of participants - but these are people with authentic "chuck wagons". Everything they do over the weekend event has to be authentic to the 1800's when chuck wagons crossed the country with wagon trains. On Saturday, they were having a chuck wagon cook off - they had to prepare a dinner of meat, vegetables, bread and dessert as it would have been done "back in the old days". Spectators could purchase a dinner and vote for the best! We didn't go to that because of the rain. It was great looking at all the old wagons and things though!

Last night my daughter and I took my granddaughter, Abi and a friend of hers to the University of Texas women's volleyball game. They are ranked #2 in the country and so they are pretty good. They are still in preseason play and were playing the national team from Italy. It was lots of fun and Abi and her friend really loved it. Of course, the pictures are from way up in the stands with my phone, so they are not very good.

And last but not least, when the University of Texas' football team wins a game, they light the top of the "clock tower" on campus orange. So, here is what we saw when we left the volleyball game.

Nice pictures Gayle. I'm so glad you post pictures. I don't get anywhere to take pictures so it's nice to see yours. I would have loved seeing all the old wagons. There are a few around here that people use to decorate their yard with.
I love volleyball games so that would have been fun for me too.

I'm a picture taking fool this weekend! I worked in the yard this morning so I took a few pix to share. Gary likes to put little "critters" in our rock garden out front, so here are a few of them, some are new ones we got on our trip this summer.
