Ever since the shootings

Since the shootings we've had 2 bomb threats, one of which is currently going on as I type. Why oh why do people find it funny to do this?

It's kinda a good thing, but anytime anything happens now it's like everyone over reacts. Here's what I mean, my dorm needs a new fire alarm system, it randomly goes off and we typically just go outside, the security guards check it out to make sure there's no fire then we go back in. Last night the alarm went off yet again and an engine, a rescue truck, a ladder truck, and an ambulance all showed up. I got to see firefighters in bunker gear so it made me happy, but I felt sorry for the guys cause they had to wake up and everything for nothing, cause yeah, the alarm went off at 3am.

There have been bomb threats all over the country. It's just a very sad world we live in now. I just don't understand why this has to be this way. Very sad.

I find this equally unsettling. Obviously our government has been lying about some pretty important things. Kinda makes me sick to my stomach.

Melissa, your right about it seeming like they are overreacting, but the universities just can't take chances right now. They are so worried about copycats!! If you do a little searching of the news, like Tink said, there have been bomb threats, people found with guns at schools, threats that they will make VT look like nothing compared to what they will do on a certain day all over the country. It's really awful!!

Tink, I've been watching the news about the same thing you mention about the government lying. I also saw a special on HDNet tonight about Iraqi refugees fleeing to European countries & they mentioned that fundamental Islam is spreading due to sponsorship of basically missionaries funded by people in the US buying gasoline. Without realizing it, we are funding the spread of Islam every time we gas up. Even if our gasoline is coming from South America or somewhere else, we are contributing to the world wide demand for gasoline which causes the fundamentalist Islamic countries to make more money and enabling them to spread their doctrine of hatred & terror. AHHH!! What to do? I'm ready to go solar & wind and drive a hybrid car!!!

Oh goodness I know what you mean.. I went to take my Spanish Final today and was a bit freaked out when I saw that the lights were not working...... the whole University was blacked out and they were shutting the buildings down! Thank goodness it was a power outage.... whew!

I hope things calm down for you guys. The whole world is upsidedown at the moment. Its just crazy!
