Real or Artifical Christmas Tree

Ok girls, I stole this from YT ...lol How many have a real or fake tree? I myself grew up always having an artifical tree. I like to put my tree up early and have always worried about the real ones drying out. I have a beautiful 7 ft. tree, that looks real, I paid a lot for it. But it still in shape and looks beautiful. I decorate with victorian ornaments and ribbons...

For many years we have had an artificial tree in the lounge as I hated the mess real tree's left with there needle's, we have a log cabin in the garden that hubby has turned into his den and he has a real one out there so he deals with that mess. However real do look nicer so this year I may just give in and have one in the house.

We have always had an artificial. I tried one year with a real one, but it made me a nervous wreck the whole time..so never again.

I lost a friend in a fire at Christmas. They had a real tree and she lived in a mobile home. It took less than 6.5 minutes for the home to become fully engulfed. No one made it out. I love my son and life too much to take the chance! Not worth it to me to have a real tree!!

Aww Janet what happened to your friend is terrible, I am sorry to hear that.. That is another reason why I stay away from real you have to take care of the tree.

Diane, I will try to post photos but I am not good at it, I don't know how to shrink the photos to put on here..lol I am also a big elvis fan, and have a replica of his manison that I put out along with a village, but every year I am getting lazier and lazier in setting it up. Must be old age creeping up ...lol

I'm allergic to real trees so I've always had a fake one.

We always had real growing up, but living in apartments & such a big tree just didn't work for my hubby & I; so we bought like a 4 foot tree from target (after christmas sale) and use that. It actually works out really nice with the animals, we set it up on a card table in the corner & that keeps the dog out of it.

I understand how that is. I'm thinking about how I can scale down what I put up too. It just takes so long to put the decorations out and put them up and no one cares to help. Must be old age........nope, not going there!!!!!

I absolutley love real trees...O the smell!! I just love it...but, we have a woodstove insert in our fireplace in the living room which, is where our tree goes so....a real tree isn't an option for us...it would dry out to quick....I use an artificial tree and burn a christmas wreath yankee candle...people think I have a real tree because of the smell....

Your tree sounds like it's really pretty, Gina. You're going to have to post pictures for us.

We would always get a real tree (you know where you go out in the neighbor's pasture and chop one down!) but after we moved into our new house I really didn't like the mess so we bought an artificial tree. Now I can put it up earlier because I don't have to worry about it drying out. We bought a really nice tree that turns! It's really neat but I put so many ornaments on it that it's too heavy to turn.
