Question Our Kitty...May Be Expecting...

Since that big ole Tom Cat came around a few weeks ago, I think, but not sure, that he left a 'calling card'. I do have to admit something, but I'll start from the beginning.

When the Tom cat first came around we were not thrilled. He was huge and would not leave Kitty alone. She wanted nothing to do with him. The cat somehow ended up in the shed so the guys put a live trap in there with some cat food and the next day he was caught. They took the cat approximately 5 miles north over some water, even though we know cats swim, we've heard that if you take them over water, they will not return. Anyway...guess who showed up a week later? Yup...the Tom cat.

Kitty was still not wanting him close to her. I was in the house and heard a blood curdling scream. It was Kitty and this Tom cat had her down and biting on her head and neck. Scared me to death and I sure didn't want anything to happen to Kitty so I came in and got my gun.

When I went back out, I saw Kitty run around the garage with the Tom chasing her so I ran around there too. She had jumped up on the fence to get into where the dogs were and the Tom was just about to jump when I yelled, "NO, DON'T YOU MOVE, STAY AWAY FROM HER" and this Tom turned and looked at me with killer eyes....I swear. He took a couple of steps toward me growling and well, I pulled the trigger. I saw exactly where I hit it, but he took off running, and we haven't seen him since.

I have been dealing with the guilt for shooting that cat, but he was hurting Kitty and that scream is something I will never forget. I have never heard a cat scream before.

Anyway, she looks like she's getting a bit of a belly on her. I got online to see what cat pregnancies were all about and IF she is pregnant, she's due some time the first or second week of May. She's had all her shots now, so if that Tom had anything hopefully he didn't pass it on to her. I did check all over her head and neck and didn't find any blood.

Now you all know I'm not a cat person, but I just love Kitty. We don't really need any more animals here, but Ricky and I are sort of wishing she is pregnant. I know...dumb, but we would find them really good homes, most of them anyway...lol.

Now, just as I'm typing, she's walking across the yard with a mouse in her mouth....how freak'n gross!!!

LOL! Janet, you are a country girl and things like this go on in the country! I don't blame you for being so mad at that tom cat! I think it's so cute that you are NOT A CAT PERSON, but you saved Kitty from the mean old tom cat! HA! HA! That's too cute!

I know the feeling of wanting your kitty to be secretly pregnant. I grew up with cats and loved kitties. I have heard a cat scream and it's a horrible scream. You did right keeping that mean cat away. Keep us updated.

Oh cool......Kittens!! Jaci has 5 little gray kittens! They are sooo cute!! Congratulations!!

When a cat is in heat they make noises like they're dying. The house cat that we had once went into heat. It was so funny because we'd never heard anything like that!! Jaci was crying because she thought that the cat was dying!! Cats are so different than dogs!!! Kittens are so sweet! You'll love having them!!

Well, we've not heard any weird noises, probably because she stays outside most of the time. She is acting different though and her belly is getting bigger. Not exactly sure when she is due, but we're thinking sometime the first week of May, maybe the 2nd. I know this is totally out of charactor for me, but I'm so darn excited!!!!
