Christmas events

On Friday, I have to dress up in Christmassy attire and go to the local supermarket with a personal banker from a neighboring town/branch to do a Christmas promotion for our bank. I'll be wearing a floor length red velvet skirt, black high heeled boots, a white silky shirt and black crocheted vest topped off by a Santa hat!

I get to walk the aisles of the store and hand out candy canes to their customers. Those who get canes with a special sticker on them get a gift certificate from the store. In the process, we are to be letting people know we're from the bank across the street and invite them over to check us out.

So far this is the only Christmas event I'm involved in. LOL It's not real heartwarming, yet I think it might be fun just to get out and visit with people.

So who has Christmas events coming up and what role will you be playing in them?

That sounds like so much fun! I'm jealous!

I'm like ridiculously into Holidays so I want to do every littl ething relating to them
unfortunately the only thing I have planned is decorating to the extreme, shopping, filling out cards, regular stuff.

that dress sounds BEAUTIFUL!! I want it! lol

We haven't had any Christmas events for quite a few years...I miss them. We use to go to work Christmas parties, but where we work now doesn't have them. Maybe I should start a new tradition and have a Christmas party here. That would be so much fun, but a lot of work. Maybe I'll think about it for next year!!

All of our Christmas events are centered around our church. We have a Christmas musical and play on Dec. 9 & 10. I have a speaking part and a small solo. It's going to be really fun because it's been years since we've done anything with the adults, usually it's just the kids doing Christmas programs.

We also have a really nice Christmas party at church. We, also, have a Pastor/Board Christmas party (My husband is a deacon on the board at church). And we also have a WM (our women's group at church) Christmas party where we exchange Christmas ornaments with our secret pals. All of these parties are really nice and fun to go to and they keep us busy throughout December!!

In my town we do a thing called the holy walk. They split you into "family" of like 30 & walk you through this area. It's supposed to be like you are a family going to pay your taxes in bethlehem on the night of christs birth. The first thing you come to is angles & shepards on a hill (i've been an angle since I was 4 (minus a few of my high school years spend in the village)), the angles sing of chirsts coming. Then you go past the inn where there is no room. Through the town & to the tax payers tent & finally to the manager. Then they stop at a cross & sing christmas carols & you then head home. It's this weekend. This takes place at my uncle jim's hill & people come from all over to walk through. My grandpa provides the life animals for the nativity scene. It's going to be this weekend this year.

Then on the weekend of the 16th & 17th I'm singing in the big christmas program at the church I attend. I believe it's televisized, I will find out when & on what channel it's televised & let you know.

The Holy Walk sounds nice. I've never heard of anything like this. It sounds like a living nativity but more.

I too love Christmas events, and wish I could attend many more than I do. I like to go to the school christmas musicals, christmas eve church services, and the small christmas parade in town which is tomorrow night.

If the weather is bearable I think I'll go to the parade and will have to find out when the other events are. I need to get back into doing what I enjoy. I also go to my granddaughters sunday school program.

I decided since we didn't have a lot of customers in the bank today,. that it was time to start decorating the place. I hung stockings, put up a wreath, wrapped a large picture that hangs on the wall to look like a gift, and strung crocheted snowflakes from the cieling. I had a couple of customers ask if I'd go home with them to do their homes. LOL It was fun even though I did end up doing it by myself. It seems no one else was in the holiday spirit yet.
