I caved and took the simple route
After the huge mess Moses made yesterday in just a few minutes, I've been dreading what he might do to a Christmas tree. So today when hubby came home, I discussed it with him, and we decided to go with a small artificial Christmas tree this year. We ended up with a 4' tree that we will set on a library table where he shouldn't be so tempted to UNdecorate it for us.
It's just a cheap little pre-lit tree that I will smother in decorations to hide the fact that it's truly pretty ugly. LOL I figure if I put enough stuff on it, it should be passable. Nothing like letting a dog dictate how we celebrate! teeheehee

I would rather not have a tree at all. But if I had to have a tree, it would be a really small table top style. SINCE I have a 15 year old son who loves Christmas, we are putting up our nice artificial tree. Tomorrow we will proably decorate it. My son put it together today.

Last year was our first with Reuger (6 months old). I was really surprised that nothing was bothered or chewed by him, but he really hasn't been much of a chewer. Maybe you should give Moses the benefit of the doubt!!! HA! HA! HA!

OMG Greg and I took the little fake tree out of the box and just cracked up! It's far tackier than the picture on the box. Moses sniffed it and walked away... even he wasn't fooled. It's going to end up in a window where it will only be seen from outside. There aren't enough ornaments in the state to make this tree look good!
Hubby, who doesn't even LIKE Christmas, said we need to go get a real tree tomorrow for the living room. You know it's bad when HE wants to replace it!

The 1st year we were married my husband and I just cut the top out of a tree. At the place we used to go they stripped the bottom for wreathes & we took the top. It was under 4 feet tall, but it was real. We then set it up on a table to try & keep the kitten out of it. Didn't exactly work, but it was still really nice & cute. Maybe you could do this? Then the puppy might stay out of the tree & you can still have a real one.

That's a great idea!!! Once my son is grown and out on his own, that's what I would like to do. Hopefully he won't be in any hurry to leave us once he comes of age, so a bigger tree will be what he wants and of course...I want him to enjoy Christmas!
