Do any of you go to a chiropractor??
Hey ladies! Just wondering if any of you have any experience with a chiropractor. I went for a much needed massage the other day and she recommended that I see a chiropractor for my neck and shoulder pain. I have heard very scary things about the long term effects. My job is very stressful and apparently, I have let it get out of hand and my spine is all out of whack!! Just wanted to know what you all think! Thanks!

I've never gone to a chiropractor but it sure sounds nice to be put back into alignment again!

I hurt my back really badly cheerleading in high school. I could barely get off the couch it hurt so badly. I went to the doctor and she examined me and gave me some Vioxx. I was very disappointed because I knew there was something wrong wtih my back and I didn't want to just cover it up with medication. One of my friends recommended that I visit a chiropractor. They examined me, did x-rays, etc. and after the necessary adjustments, I was 100% pain free, and without medication!!!! I do not go on a regular basis now, but I do go when I feel my back starting to hurt again. I highly recommend it. But you really need to do your research because there are alot of bad ones out there that could really mess you up. But if you go to a good one, it is a wonderful experience. It feels so good, too!

I have gone to chiropractors for many years for problems with a couple of disks in my neck. From .my experience they are not a cure, but can definitely help. I'll share more when i'm on a real computer. I'm using my Palm right now for access.

I have been before and made an appointment to go next Monday. I have several problems with my back that cause circulation problems in my hands. Pinched nerves and just a lot of stress. He helps pull my head back up and relax my shoulders. They can be good or bad, you really need to get a referrel from friends or family.

I said I would post more when I was on a regular computer, well here goes. I have been going to chiropractors for over 15 years. They have never cured my problems, but they have helped me more than any of the medical doctors have.
There are big differences between chiropractors so the advice you've been given here is good. Check with friends and family to find someone in your area who you can trust. They charge differently also and there are different therapies that they can do depending upon your problem and your budget. My insurance covers a certain amount of chiropractic care each year. Good luck, and pm me if you have any specific questions.
