Stress test
Has anyone taken a stress echo test? Since the begining of January I joined a gym. Last Friday while I was on the threadmill the trainer put me on 20 minutes, when the 20 minutes was up. I stopped the threadmill and got off, well I felt dizzy and was going to continue to excercise but decided I better not. I called my dr. to ask him if this was normal,I have had dizzy spells during the summer. Which turned out to be lower blood pressure, anyway he called me back and said no I want you to come in and we will give you a script to go take a stress echo test. Now I am worried and scared. I know my dr. is very on top of things. I am to take this test on Monday and I haven't been back to the gym until this test is done.Have any of you ladies taken this test?or felt this way after walking on threadmill? My friends told me of course you felt dizzy you are suppose to slow down during the cooling period. I didn't know that.. Please say a prayer that they don't find anything wrong with my heart.

Of course you'll be in my prayers, Gina. I really don't think you'll have much to worry about. Could be low or high blood pressure. If you're not use to being on the treadmill that could have something to do with it. Yes, I know you are suppose to start off slow then speed up and then have a cooling (slow down) period. Have you done a search to see what it MIGHT possibly be. Remember not everything on the net is the truth. It's great you have a cautious Dr. More should be like him/her.

Keep us posted on how the doctor visit goes. Don't worry yourself ~ It sounds like you've just over done it on the tread machine. I've felt that way myself a time or two when I've over done it. I knew better and should have done my sessions shorter. Maybe for now you should skip the tread machine and just do light exercizes like walking or something. Don't forget the H2o.
Will be thinking of you and will be checking back next week to see how your visit went.

My prayers are with you Gina.
I've had a stress test. What they do is to hook you up with wires to do an EKG while you're on a treadmill. They start you out slow, and monitor you as you speed up and make the incline steeper. If they see any irregularities or you seem too "out of breath" they will end the test right away. When I had mine, there were 2 people in the room with me; a technician and a cardiac nurse. They're very careful not to push you harder than you can safely endure. Some have blood pressure drops when on their feet for a long period. This can make you light headed. I hope that's all it is.
