From hobby to profession

If you could turn one of your hobbies into a profession , what would you be doing? Why aren't you already doing it?

Cooking. I would love to go to families homes and create meals for them. This includes the shopping, putting it away, preparing/cooking and serving them.

I love to cook!! I love for other people to eat my cooking!!

Why don't I do this? Because I have a brain and this brain tells me it's a really stupid idea. LOL

I love sewing, but no i wouldnt make it a profession, i grew up with textile, fabrics, fashion, sewing machines, irons, to last me forever LOL
What i would really love to do is, have a doggie hotel, not a boarding kennel, but a real hotel for small breeds, where they get groomed, their own tv in the room, room service, the whole works.

I would love to raise yorkshire terriers, but it would mean that I would have to get another dog. Reuger is so attentive to me and always wants to be cuddled that I'm afraid that if I bring in another dog that I'll lose what I have with Reuger. Also my husband isn't too crazy about having 2 dogs in the house.

I would like to have a small shop that sells only dog supplies. Everything from clothes to food and everything inbetween. In the back of the shop I would like an area with 3 or 4 tubs and tables so people could come groom and bathe their dogs and not have to mess up there house. I would supply the towels and dryers and they could bring their own shampoo and conditioners or buy from me.

The reason I haven't done it....money, need a place in town and rent would probably be too high and I don't know for sure how well it would go in our town. I would love to be able to do that.

Janet have you thought about selling pampered chef?...that's exactly what they do to sell products. Go to someone's home, cook for them, eat & sell the products

Oh no,no,no You have to like to cook too....LOL 2tiredmom (she hasn't been on for a little while here) use to sell it and was quite good at it. I like the products although they are a little pricey for me, but I'm no cook. Most of the time I fix what comes out of a box or can....

Janet, the Pampered Chef ladies won't like me for saying so, but you can buy Pampered Chef on E-Bay. I keep a current catalog handy so I know if I'm getting a good deal or not before I buy, but some things can be bought cheaper there, and you can find discontinued items. Mostly that's what I'm looking for is discontinued. I still buy from a friend who is a legitimate dealer, and she does not know I check out E-bay, also.

My hobbies that I'd like to turn into a business would either be writing, (such as the Editor position) or landscape design.
The landscape design would be very hard for me because I don't have the physical strength or stamina to do all thw work that it would entail so would have to hire others to work with me.

Traci, maybe you can teach me a little about organization....my studio is a MESS.

I recommend to ANYONE to find what they love doing, and make a career out of it. I did, and my photography career has really taken off! You can view my latest work here: http://storybookbride.com/weddings/olson/

In fact, I'm SO busy with work, that I shouldn't be on 4wt.....lol. I guess every good professional needs a place to procrastinate, right?
