Obsessed

I tend to obsess about things that are going on in my life. Right now it's the job that I interviewed for this morning. Last week it was the guy who drove into our house. The week before it was getting out of the bank job gracefully. See a pattern here?

Am I alone in this?
Do you obsess over things to the point of having trouble focussing on other things too?
What kind of things get you obsessing?

Tink yes, i do the same. I tend to obsess about things going on in my life, which makes it harder to focus on other things.
While my son's health is not what it should be, and him having to keep going back for tests is something i obsess about.
Last year when my husband was ill, i couldnt focus on much else.
When one of my fur kids are sick i stay up all night to make sure they are ok.

The way i am trying to change my habit is to visualise my life the way i want it to be, so instead of focussing on the "troubled" areas, i try to look beyond it, and live the way i would without all the "drama"
I have found that, if i focus on the not so good parts, i feel that im feeding those areas.

Dont know if that makes sense

I don't think I really obsess about anything, but I do let things get to me sometimes. I can usually get over it, but no always.

I was kind of obsessed about getting the kids home today so I could start my vacation, but it wasn't on my mind constantly. I didn't answer that very well now did I????

I definitely stress about EVERYTHING in my life. If even the smallest thing is wrong, I worry about it constantly until it is resolved. That's why I hate arguing so much. It consumes my life and my thoughts. I get that way with school and work too or anything really.

I wish I didn't do this, but it's just a part of who I am I think. I try to keep it under control...and I fail. LOL! Anyway, you are NOT alone!

Oh, yes, I can relate. This probably should be in the vent forum, but you asked, so here goes.........Right now, it seems like there is so much to obsess about. We were extremely short handed this week. One of our inside guys took an extra week off for spring break unexpectedly (was late on Monday and just called in) and left us to handle a bunch of rushs and do month end without him. (Our fiscal month ended today.) The other inside guy's grandmother passed away on Monday evening and he had to take off, so my BOSS had to come down and help fill in for them. We have two inside salesmen at out branch, and they both were gone. That's stressful, and the guy who took the extra week had said that if we need him to just call, and he would fly back. On Wednesday I called him and said the the other guys grandmother passed away, and we need you to come back. He had the nerve to say okay, "Buy me a plane ticket and I'll fly back." I could not believe the nerve of him!!!! He said if the company wanted him back, we could pay!!!! Of course we won't, and this is why the boss had to come down. He, Boss, was not happy about the situation at all!!! If I could, I'd fire the guy, or at least give him a few more days off without pay but we work for a huge corporation, and it's not so easy.

Our dogs were sick last week throwing up. They were eating Nutro Natural Choice dry kibble, which is not recalled, but when I changed them to Royal Canin Yorkie, everyone got well and are much more active. I really believe their food was contaminated, no matter what anyone else says, so I'm obsessing over that.

We've been trying to sell some land that I grew up on. It's been in my family for several generations, and selling it is heart wrenching, but actually makes sense. If we don't sell, the state will probably confiscate it to build the Trans Texas Corridor, and if we do sell, we will be raising the property values in the area and helping all our other family members when the state does come calling. We can use the money to buy other property in a better location, so it all make sense, but it was hard to put the property up for sale. The sign has been up for several months, and we have had many calls, but no takers, until today. Hubby called this afternoon. We have a buyer. Our prayers may have been answered, but my emotions are very mixed. It's hard to let go and I'm about to cry again.

Hubby is having a really tough time with some work things, too, and that's something we are both obsessing over.

I'm decorating a house for him for a Parade of Homes that's coming up, so that's stressful and worth obessing over.

We're trying to plan the vacation of a lifetime, with so little spare time to do anything.

There's other stuff, too, but I'm rambling on and probably no one will read this long post anyway.

Sorry, I just had to get some of this off my chest.

I obsess about things and have a hard time letting go of things. I need to learn to move on and let go of what bothers me or speak out!

Here's a link to the TTC website:

http://www.keeptexasmoving.org/

As envisioned, each route will include:
  • separate lanes for passenger vehicles and large trucks
  • freight railways
  • high-speed commuter railways
  • infrastructure for utilities including water lines, oil and gas pipelines, and transmission lines for electricity, broadband and other telecommunications services
We're in the I-69 study area, south of Houston.
http://www.keeptexasmoving.org/publi...tPM_150dpi.pdf

They are telling us that the corridor will require a 1/4 mile+ wide swath of land. It will be a toll road built and maintained by a company in Spain.

Here's more info if you are interested:
http://www.corridorwatch.org/ttc_2007/CW00000092.htm

There are several groups opposing this corridor. I've heard, but don't know for sure that the toll to drive from San Antonio to Laredo would be around $60.
