Our Attitudes
The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life.
Attitude, to me is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company... a church... a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past... we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude. I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it. And so it is with you... we are in charge of our attitudes. Charles Swindoll American Author and Pastor

I *love* this! I have a good portion of it memorized b/c I have to remind myself all the time. In college, I had it printed out and taped to my closet door so I could read it every morning as I got ready for class.

Great rule of thumb to life by. It's so good to stop and think about how you are going to react to things and why you initially want to react that way...becuase sometimes stopping and thinking about the situtation will make you react differently.

Thanks Tink. I agree that it is a good rule of thumb to live by.

By the way, that's easier said than done and I'm doing a poor job of it right now...
I will try harder...

You're right Angie, especially nowadays when we have so much going on and being shoved our way. A lot easier said than done...but I guess I will try a little harder too.
