Thumbs down another example of why i don't like my husband...

he has NO tact....

so, yesterday, sitting at a very nice restaurant with my husband, my investor, and our title attorney, my ever so sweet husband announces to me...and everyone else at the table "oh, by the way honey, you have high cholesterol".

my jaw dropped. he has NO tact. none.

this is the first i have heard of it. apparently the insurance lady emailed him and told him that when i had my physical done, it came back that it is high. she didn't indicate how high...but that i should start seeing a doctor for it. well...it would have been nice if he told me this in the privacy of our home...not announce it at the table of the restaurant with everyone else there!!! I truly do not like him.

anyway....so...i guess i have that to worry about. funny...i was watching on tv yesterday about low cholesterol diets and how you can not be overweight but have high cholesterol and not even know it.

wellllll...what a coincidence huh??

so i will be working on that

I agree 100% with you, that was NOT the time, and place to tell you that!! Men can be thoughtless at times

That was rude of him. Would he have liked it if the tables were turned and YOU would have been the one to announce "By the way, I got an e-mail today about your physical and, you know that little rash you have? It is jock itch but it's easy to treat!" I guess that you'll have to be the one who has to teach him how to be tactful!

Its called privacy and I think the insurance person should not have even disclosed it to your husband. They should have called you.

Great point! I didn't even know they were allowed to tell spouses things like that. When I mail prescription information to customers from the pharmacy, even if two are going to the same exact address (husband and wife) they have to be mailed separately in order to maintain confidentiality...It makes no sense at all for him to be able to tell you husband that information unless you signed some sort of waiver or something.

Anyway, he definitely could've been more tactful in that situation! Sorry you had to be embarrassed like that. Maybe next time he'll think before he talks since he knows this hurt you.

I went to the doctor recently & they asked if it would be okay to leave messages about my health with my husband & I said it was. But I agree if she didn't give them permission then it's wrong. & unless her husband has terrets he needs a good kick in the crotch....not literally.
