What's In Your Purse?

I always carry a fairly small, plain black purse with just enough pockets for my essentials. My daughters are trying to convince me to carry a more modern and larger purse.

What kind of purse do you carry for "everyday" and what's in it?

I carry a small/medium satchel. When I started carrying it I had to find stuff to carry to fill it out. I have my wallet, a notepad & pen, a bottle of pain reliever, a tube of benedril, gum, ect.

I carry a Vera Bradley purse that has 6 pockets along the inside of it. I love this purse. I carry my billfold in the middle of if and in the pockets I have pen and notebook, cellphone and bluetooth earpiece, tic tacs, keys, and Kleenex. I love it that everything has a place and I don't have to hunt for stuff.

Yeah - sounds like I'm doing fine and won't let the girls change me.

I carry a small purse so I don't have a lot in it. It has my billfold, chapstick, eye drops, a lot of grocery store receipts, some coupons, medicine, and some other stuff that I can't think of with getting it out and checking. It's gotten messy with all the shopping I did at Christmas so I need to clean it out.

I bought a cloth purse in Costa Rico a few months ago. I have a pencil, pen, checks, small notebook, calendar, wallet, inhaler, and I can't think of anything else. I'm still buried under blankets waiting for it to warm up in here.

I have a small purse. I keep my IDs (driver's license and school ID) and credit cards and such in a small carrier just for cards. I also carry a little bit of make-up, my keys, cell phone, pen and paper, chapstick, and other small items. I used to carry a bigger purse, but I think I like the smaller one better.

My current purse is a cross between a purse, and a zippered tote that I bought in Venice. It has Venezia across the top with a scene of the city. Kinda tacky, but I like it. Inside, oh my, some old receipts for sure, coin purse with cash in it, coin purse with a view window for ID that holds all my cards (insurance, credit, debit, etc.), Palm LifeDrive, company cell phone, personal iPhone, lipstick, tape measure, nail file, nail clippers, hand sanitizer, key ring with house and church keys, pens, pictures of my daughters, eye glass cleaning cloth, tooth picks, Breathsavers, church address book, magnifying mirror, business card holder, loose change, tissues....I think that's about it. Way too much stuff.

Janet, I looked up the Vera Bradley bags because I was intrigued by the 6 inside pockets. There is a local store that carries them. I may just stop by there tomorrow and check them out. I really need more organization. With all my stuff and two cell phones, I have trouble getting to what I need before my call is missed.

I definitely do not want one of the stylish larger purses. I looked at some of them on Monday at the Galleria Mall in Houston, and some of them weigh as much as a small suitcase. I hate carrying a lot of weight and my contents weighs enough as it is.

I just switched from my Kohl's Vera Wang, huge black bag to my new red crushed patent leather winter bag. It doesn't have enough compartments, but it sure is pretty.

I keep my wallet with credit cards, other business cards, medical cards, etc. etc. too much change, some money, pix of my grandkids, those plastic thingies you use at the supermarket or the drug store to get discounts, all the Christmas receipts, and probably more in it. It must weigh about 2 pounds.

I also have another case with my mp3 player, my cell phone, spare batteries, and 2 sets of headphones in it. There's another case with a spare set of car keys, lip gloss, a scissor, tweezers, eye drops, and that's about it. Then I have my reading glasses, comb, and some pens, in my zipper compartment.

I have a small umbrella and rain hat in the middle, a billfold with my car insurance stuff, some paper towels for emergency yorkie poop cleanup, my planner, and some coupons.

I just weighed it - the bag weighs 5 pounds, the wallet weighs 2.5 pounds.

No wonder I need my chiropractor!

After reading my own post compared to yours, I can see how ridiculous it is to carry around so much stuff. I'll clean it out soon and see how I survive.

I love my Vera Bradley purse Marilyn. I like the Kensington pattern, so pretty. The one I have now is the Betsy in the java blue pattern. They also have some on ebay. Here in Indiana sometime in May they have the Vera Bradley purses 50%-75% off at their outlet store. I'm hopeing to be able to go, but we'll see. I would love to get a couple more and a couple of their billfolds.
