Unhappy What should I do?!

Ok, so my birthday is next month on a Saturday (October 14 to be exact) and my hubby just called me because he just got his schedule for next month and he has to work practically the entire weekend of my birthday. That totally sux. I'm not mad at him because I know he cannot help it, but it just is a letdown. We just moved to this town where I have NO friends....all of my friends and my family live hours away. So, what the heck am I supposed to do for my birthday?? Sit at home by myself all weekend? Should I leave my hubby here and go home or go visit friends for my birthday? I don't want to hurt my hubby's feelings by not spending my birthday with him. Plus, I want this nice piece of jewelry for my birthday and I feel bad getting that from my hubby and then leaving for the entire weekend. What should I do?!

Why don't you celebrate your Birthday one of the weekends before hand? Will this work?

That is a good idea. Maybe I could celebrate with hubby the weekend before my bday and go home the actual weekend of my bday and celebrate with my sisters and my parents. That is a good idea!

We just have to organize a mic on this site that we can use, i know Sheyl has a great voice, and she loves to sing, the rest of us will be the background choir

Does it matter if I sing off key? (just enough to make a Yorkie howl)

Well, since I can't carry a tune in a bucket, how bout I just hum along???

I think you've got it all worked out - spend your birthday early with hubby then head home the week-end of your birthday

Well, I have some good news! Hubby could tell that I was a little sad that he had to work on my birthday, so he conned someone into switching weekends with him! YIPPEE!!!!!!!!!!! Now he doesn't have to work on my birthday and he said we can do WHATEVER I wanna do! HOORAY! Thanks for all the moral support. All your ideas were fabulous.

Want an even better one.... Celebrate the Weekend before.... then instead of leaving your hubby behind... on the Saturday OF your bday go to the spa..shopping... pamper yourself... remember its YOUR birthday and then go to eat lunch or dinner together... even if it means taking lunch to his work... that way he wont feel all alone,.... you gotta remember you and him are immediate family now .. he is probably too much of a nice guy to say it but it will hurt his feelings a bit to be left behind.... just MHO

If you want to do something so terrific and make your heart feel so good it could burst....visit a nursing home. I know this because my MIL is in one and I visit with a lot of the residents there. Most don't get visitors. Take a couple of cards/envelopes with a stamp for however many you want to visit, they like to send out cards. Believe me, you will forget it is your birthday. They will love you so much and there is truly not a better way to make yourself feel great!!!!

You must still be young! lol We use to do stuff on eaach others birthdays. Now We are lucky to get a cake! LOLSeriously when I was your age I really loved a quiet in home"party" on my birthday. You could make it a very romantic night and enjoy yourself. Trust me if you plan on having kids you will want to take advantage of every private moment. Good luck and HAPPY EARLY BIRTHDAY!
