My Son Had An Car Accident!!
Every mother's nightmare. Ricky calls says.."Mom...I've been in an accident...I'm okay." That was one thing I've always told him...one of the first two sentences, must be how he is...don't make me ask. Bless his heart he remembered. He was pretty shaken up, but wanted to go into work anyway. I'm so proud of how he handled everything.
After he called I raced out to my van and headed out the drive, but couldn't breath. I had to keep reminding myself that he is okay and then I was fine. The accident happened just about 3 miles from home. He was traveling south and at this 'T' intersection there is very tall grass. The two women stopped, but didn't see him coming and pulled out hitting the side of his car. It will take two doors and misc. body work to get it fixed. Now I'll have to help him fill out all the paperwork involved. He even has to do some of it online. Don't know what people do if they don't have a computer...lol. Here are some pictures of his car. Car 1.jpg car 2.jpg car 3.jpg car 4.jpg I also wanted to mention that I think part of the reason I went into panic mode even though I knew he was alright was because we found out that a classmate of his (lives just a couple miles from us) shot himself and could not be saved. Such a tragic event for our school community. Would much appreciate a prayer for his family if you wouldn't mind.

Janet, so sad this had to happen to Ricky, but sooooo glad it was not any worse!!!!! It's just paint and metal and thank goodness you know a good body shop!!!!
So sad to hear about the young man down the road. Was it an accident or intentional? Your family and theirs will be in my prayers.

Things like this just frustrate me so. I don't know how a parent would get through something like this. There will be a service at the school gymnasim on Monday that we will be attending. We have a very close community so I'm sure the gym will be packed.

I'm glad your son is alright. Is he worried about driving again? and I will have to teach my kids to say those two sentences as well.
As far as the boy down the street. I am so sorry for him, his family, his friends, classmates and the community. If what you heard waas true, I have heard the same thing from my grandparents for most of my life. I know how hard it can be and I had suicidal thoughts because of it as well. I hope healing can begin for everyone effected soon. *hugs*
