Hickory has babies!
So far (not sure she's done yet) we have 5 babies. Just to prove to me I really don't know it all and can't always take the word of other breeders, she has 2 chocolate boys and 3 apricot girls! I'd been told that this pair would have ALL chocolate, so I'm actually pleasantly surprised! They've all nursed and look wonderful with wavy coats and a great shine to them. (Chips sire is apricot so I know where that came from!)
Hickory is doing wonderfully. She's let us touch them enough to find out their gender, and pet her while she's nursing without getting upset; and she even licked dh when he was touching the pups, so she's doing great! I am so relieved that she was able to do this successfully without intervention and is so calm about us touching them. Thank you GOD!

Tink congratulations!!!! I'm so glad Hickory had them on her own. I know you said she was late and I was getting worried about her too. I don't think anyone can tell you anything about color unless they know all the colors in the background. You just never know what may pop up and as soon as a breeder thinks they know it all....they find out real quick they didn't!
I'm glad she is so trusting with you and Greg touching her and the babies. What a great temperment to pass on to her babies. Congrats again Tink!!!

It seems she's done at 5, which for a first litter is probably good for her. She's doing great with them and seems very satisfied to be nursing and cleaning them. She's normally shy and avoids the camera, but today even that doesn't seem to bother her. So here's Hickory and family! happymomand babies.jpg

Hickory is really pretty, this is a great picture of her. I just love Labs, always have.
Now we both get to enjoy puppies together!!! I'm looking forward to it. Congratulations again!!!

Hickory looks very happy and content!!! I'm glad to hear that everything's gone so well. It sounds like she's really accepted you and is fitting in!! I can't wait for more puppy pictures! They are always so cute!!! I may just have to become a breeder!!!! NOT!!!

Tink, the puppies are gorgeous and so is Hickory!!! Can't wait to see pictures of them as they grow!
