Meteor!
http://www.cbc.ca/canada/calgary/sto...ta-meteor.html
That's so crazy! My mom called me last night to say she was just making supper when all of a sudden the whole backyard was lit up like daylight for a few seconds. She was scared and wasn't sure what was going on! She thought maybe there was an explosion next door or something but there was no sound. I wish I would have seen it but I was inside a restaurant at the time My whole office is buzzing about it this morning!

That would have been scary but now that they know what it is I think I would be a bit excited that I saw it or the light from it.

Wow, that's pretty amazing. Hubby and I must have seen something like that when we were very young. Probably a smaller one though. We were out on the highway very late one night when suddenly there was a flash and for about a second, it was daylight, then dark again. We stopped the car and looked around, but everything looked normal, and we never read anything in the paper about it. This was way before there was an internet, so information didn't get out like it does today. We always figured it must have been a meteor or something.

OMG. I would have thought a plane or something had caught on fire and was
rocketing back down to the ground. Thanks for sharing that. I just can't imagine seeing something that big flying across the sky at night. WOW is right.

On the news last night, a professor from the university was saying it was most likely only the size of a GRAPEFRUIT and probably completely disintigrated before hitting the ground. They are still searching for pieces of it though! Isn't it crazy how something SO SMALL gave off so much light?
