Thumbs up Right on time

I'm 51, soon to have another birthday.
I have had 2 periods in the past 5 months. YEEEEEHAWWWWWW
I can hardly wait till I'm done with this completely.
According to the medical community, 52 is the average age for menopause, so I seem to be right on target.
So far I've had a few "power surges", but nothing too drastic.
For now I just feel releived.

Just HAD to share my good news!

I am 51 and will be 52 in March. I had a hysterectomy for a tumor, but boy is it great not having periods anymore. Mine were so awful, painful cramps and a mess. Hopefully you won't get the hot flashes or anything like I did right after my surgery. Now I take Premarin in the lowest dose possible. I usually just take one everyother day, only to stop the hot flashes and night sweats.

I know it's another turning point in a woman's life, but it's a great one!!!!

Wow Janet, it's nice to meet someone else who's in a similar stage of life. LOL
Generally the people I've known on line are half my age. Not that I don't enjoy younger people, but it's nice to talk with someone who's in a similar place in life too.

I've had some of the tyical flashes and sweats, but not to a horrible degree. I'm on so many meds for a variety of medical issues that I've avoided adding another one if I don't have to.

I didn't want to take anymore meds either, but those hot flashes or sweats, really get annoying. So I don't mind Premarin so much because they really help.

Yeah, I know there are not that many our age, but some of these gals have wisdom beyond belief. I just love them so much. I am glad that these younger women have so much more, what do ya want to call it...gumption!!! I love it. They are so much wiser I think at their age than what I was at the same age and I admire so many of them on here. When I'm here, I feel like I'm their age...

I am 41 and had a hysterectomy about a year or so ago....Having no more periods is like receiving a special gift each and every month. LOVE it!!! I take Estradiol for hormones and I've had nothing negative happen (yet)...I hate taking a pill everyday but it's worth it.
