Realn stores!!!
I had such fun yesterday! I had to drive downstate to Westchester to see my doctor. It's a couple of hours from here. There were malls! There were stores!
I forgot how much I love to shop. I went into the Home Store, which is a discount store for bedding, dishes, home decor, etc. They had some great prices. and some really nice things. I like to take my time and just stroll through the aisles looking at everything. I'm not a big impulse buyer, so I do it slowly. It can take me a month to find the right vase or whatever. I bought some towels and a shower thingie that you hang over the shower head with shelves for shampoo, etc., a sheet set, and a pretty mosaic table for my computer, which I use in the living room. It sure beats online shopping. I'm really getting tired of guessing what it will really look like. There is a town about an hour wayay that has a lot of stores. I think I'll start heading down every few weeks.

It's wonderful that you've found a place to shop. I know that shopping in a small town is so limited.
We have two towns of around 15,000 within 30 miles and we do a lot of shopping and eating out at these two towns. Whenever we really want a bigger variety we have to drive to Wichita, Tulsa, Kansas City, or Joplin, all around 100-125 miles. We're pretty central to all of them but Wichita and Joplin are the places we prefer to go. You just learn to make a list of what you need to get and make a day of it. I can't wait to see what all you've been getting!!!

That's great Judy, i love to shop too, but it was depressing the last time my sister and i went to the mall it was like a ghost town, so many of the stores closed cause of the recession were in, but we got some deals at some of the stores that were closing 75% off everything in the store, we went to KB Toys and i got tons of stuff for Micah and only cost me around 30.00.. so i kinda made out, but sad in a way....

It is sad. KB Toys and now Circuit City. They just overspent themselves right out of business, and there were always plenty of customers!
I think we all have to start saving and stop charging. I put $100 each month into a small savings account. I would like to up it to $200. I don't owe anything on my charge cards either. Of course, I don't have anyone but myself to support, so it's much much easier.
