Farm
My family has a farm in Oklahoma. My cousin went up there today and took a few pix.

Do you think you'll ever live there?
My parents have the 44 acres that my sister, brother and I haven't "split" yet. There's a creek running through our property, but it's overgrown and blocked. This property belonged to my great-grandparents. My Dad bought it from his uncle in 1948, just before my parents got married. They lived in the house that was on the property for about 8 years and built the house that my brother lives in there now. This land is connected to the land my Dad's parents owned and one of his brothers bought land on the other side. A cousin lives on the property she inherited from her Dad and, being the first born grandchild, bought our grandparents' property. So, my brother and cousin live next to each other (about 60 acres). I'd love to live there, but doubt I'll ever be able to get there. We'll pass it to our kids, when we ever get it split to ourselves. I hope I'll keep my memory of the place and wonderful childhood I had there.

Loved the pictures Gayle. I've always wanted to live on land with a beautiful creek running though it. I know it will never happen now, but it's what I always wanted. One of my very favorite things to do is to walk in the woods and be near a creek. I just don't know what is more beautiful....the site or the feeling it gives me.

I love creeks too! I'm not a beach or ocean girl, but give me a creek, and I'm THERE! I grew up on this farm, so that is probably why I'm a creek girl
I don't know why my cousin didn't take more pix - there are 300 ACRES!!!! I guess she knows how much I love the creek. Sandy, Janet, I would love to live on this farm too - again - but like you, probably never will. Gary and I had plans to build a log cabin on the farm and retire there. Now, with his health, we cannot do that because the farm is 40 miles from ANY doctor (country GP) and 120 miles from a hospital. Gary's health just won't permit him to be that far away from health care.

That's a really nice creek!! My family loves to play in creeks. We have some near our house that Amy, Jaci, and the girls play in in the summer. I have a creek in my back yard but it only runs when it rains. I wish that it ran more but there's nothing we can do about it.
