Day Trip
Gary and I went to an outdoor antique show/sale today. It's about 80 miles east of Austin and goes for 10 days. Tomorrow is the last day. There are thousands of dealers along a rural highway and also in some surrounding little towns. It happens twice a year and we usually go. It was take days and days to see all the booths, but since we have been going for many years, we know the dealers that we like so we can strategize our shopping. We're only good for about 5 hours of walking, and Gary spends most of his time sitting in the shade with Rex & Rowdy. He did was at least 1.5 miles, some of it up a little incline, so I was very proud of him. Often I have to go get the pickup and go get him, but this time he made it all the way. We only saw about 1/4 of the booths in the one area - but it is our favorite place to shop, so we were happy.
I'm attaching some pictures. 1. Rex & Rowdy are ready to go! 2. We begin the day, parked in the pasture parking lot. 3. & 4. Just some of the thousands of booths

that looks like it would be so much fun. we always try to go to as many festivals as we can in our surrounding area, and we try to take at least 1 of the dogs with us, I gotta get me one of those strollers so we can take more dogs.
it sad cause we go to the covered bridge festival in Oct. and that is the last/biggest one of the year, then we know winter is just around the corner, we can go 1 weekend and it can be 70/80 degrees and then go the next weekend and it can be snowing. I just love going to them. nice pic's and glad Gary was able to get around and enjoy himself, he really is a chick magnet isn't he !!!! LOL

Love the pics Gayle. I love that kind of shopping but don't get to do it enough. Lynne has asked me to go with her for the last couple of years, but for some reason or another I've not made it yet. Who knows...maybe this year.

Yep! They sure were chick magnets!!! LOL!!! I was so proud of Gary. He walked at least a mile and a half - not all at once, of course, and with lots of stops, but he did it. He couldn't have done that a few months ago. He's really tired now, but he's veging in the easy chair.
