Flooding

We have been hit with so much rain that it entered one of the schools in Frankfort and so all the schools were closed. High water all over town. Another school in the county had a two-hour delay because of high water. Thank goodness ours was okay. If we miss any more days, we'd have to make them up at the end of school or on a Saturday.

You're so funny Judy....Indianians....LOLOL.. We're Hoosiers!! It finally stopped a couple hours ago. But I think we're suppose to get more...not sure. Too depressing to look at the weather page.

I didn't realize that you were having flooding problems. I sure hope it doesn't get any worse. That's not fun......believe me!!!

We have mild flooding going on down river from us. South of us they've had a lot more rain than we've had plus we've had enough time in between storms for them to drain on down the river but we have good chances in the next few days for more storms.

Keep us posted on how things are going!!

Water has receded quite abit. Out where I live I don't have to worry about flooding...just what roads I can take. In town, the flooding got into the high school a bit. It would help if they would get the drainage fixed on that side of town. Only been working on it for over 25 years....hopefully this mayor will get something done...he says he will.

We did finally get a little rain here. Enough to grean things up. I think it was around 2 or 3 inches. We needed it sooooo badly.

I visited Corpus Christi this week, and it's horrible down there. They haven't gotten even 1 inch of rain this year. The area looks "blonde". The grass along the highways is dry and golden. The tips of the leaves on all the palm trees are brown. There are no crops in the fields, only dry ground, with blowing sand. It's very sad. The crops should be all green and about a foot tall by now, but nothing came up at all. What a crisis for the farmers.

In our area, we got just enough that the fields are green, but many of them have maybe a 10% to 20% stand. If you look at the rows, there are huge skips in them. Doubt that they will have much if any crop.

Many of the ranchers are selling off their cattle. They can't afford to keep them. The cost of feed is just too high.

Sorry for your flooding, but wish we could have a bit of your rain down here.
