Missing My Friend....

Becky is my very dear friend who passed away last Thursday. She was absolutely the sweetest lady. She took care of anyone in need and never seemed to tire of it. When I had surgery, she brought us food and cleaned my kitchen. She always sent out birthday cards, get well cards, sympathy cards to all she knew. She was tiny, her weight was usually between 80 and 100 lbs.

She cared about everyone and fluttered around in any group making sure everyone knew they were loved.

She had me call her Mom because I didn't have one anymore. We had a coursage for her at Melissa's wedding to be a grandmother for the day, but she was too ill to make it at the time. She had lung problems and that's what finally got her. Her daughter Christal had passed away as a child from cystic fibrosis. I don't know if this had anything to do with Becky's lung condition. I don't think she ever smoked.

A very sweet lady has left this earth. I want to make certain that I don't miss out on being with her again someday.

I'm so sorry for the loss of your friend. Good friends like that don't come along very often, so you have been truly blessed to have her...and I'm sure you were just as much of a blessing to her. You have my deepest sympathy.

Thank you all for your kind thoughts. We went to her visitation last night and are going to the funeral this morning. Her daughters had typed out and framed some of her favorite scriptures and quotes. The one that really struck me was "Only the shell is left, the nut has gone." This is sooo Becky. She tried to make light of any situation affecting her to help people to feel better. She's having a closed casket and not at the church building. She doesn't want us to go to worship and remember her funeral there, and the closed casket is so we will remember her as she lived. Also, she said her mouth would be closed and we had never seen her with her mouth closed. She had a lot of spunk. She's left quite a legacy.

Also, there weren't a lot of flowers there. She made it clear that she didn't want a lot of flowers. The funds should anyone wish to donate should go to the church. Also, her funeral is here, and her burial in the Panhanle. She said they couldn't transport all those flowers there, it would be too much trouble for everyone to deal with them. Always thinking of others. On her casket rather than a large floral spray was a long stemmed yellow rose, her open Bible, her glasses, handkerchief and such.

Thank you, Pope. It seems so strange without her, but at least she's being well cared for where she is now, and we have the hope of seeing her again someday.

I know your pain, as I have lost good friends myself.. it hurts, yes indeed it does. Time does not lesson the pain, but makes it more bearable.

Remember the good times. Chersih your memories. And know that in time you will be reunited. For I truly believe those we are close with in this life, will always be with us.. for love does not die.
