My mom
has decided NOT to have surgery at this time. Unbeknownst to me until today, she has not taken any of her anti-inflammatory meds for her arthritis in 3 weeks (she had cataract surgery then and hasn't taken it since!). The orthopedist said that not having taken it could definitely be the reason her arthritis has flared up so intensely these past 3 weeks. He told her to get back on taking them and she has to go back in about another month so he can see how things are going. Due to my mom's age and weight, it is doubtful she will have this surgery.
Thank you all for your prayers and well wishes for her. Hopefully, in a few days, the pain will subside some after she's been back on her meds.

At least now you know why the pain got so bad. What are we going to do with our parents...??? My mom was the opposite. She takes everything under the sun. Dr. told her to knock it off, she didn't need all that stuff she was taking.

Hopefully she'll get some relief shortly. Maybe the meds will work and she won't need the surgery after all.
