Mackenzie's audition
Jessie found out that there was an audition for the Kortright Arts Group, and took Mackenzie. When she finished, people were applauding like crazy, and telling her how wonderfully she sings. Jessie was so proud. She told me that Mackenzie opened up on stage, and was really good!
She was chosen as an opening act for a Blues/Jazz group for this Sat. night! We are so excited! It's like all of a sudden, she has blossomed. She has always been a great singer, but now she is being chosen for all kinds of things! I am so happy for her! At almost 13, I think this is what a girl needs. They are building up their self esteem, and beginning to learn who they are, and if they are good at something, it is a blessing! I love that this is really pushed up here too. Sports are very important, and many girls are known for their athletic abilities. Music is also known by the kids up here. They still have it in school. That's where Mackenzie fits in.

That is so wonderful Judy. It's great when the are really good at something and are acknowledged for it. Good for her!!!

I'm not surprised after hearing the video that you posted of her!! She has a great voice!!! It's so nice that she's found her little place to excel!

That is just great Judy!! I also remember that video you posted and she really is a wonderful singer! Congrats to Mackenzie!

Judy, she is very talented! This is just what she needs. You are so right, at age 13, she needs to excel in something - to build her self-esteem, which can get squished at this age!

The concert is tonight! I can't wait!!!
It's $19 for a ticket, so I think this is a big deal! I'll let you know....

Can't wait to hear how the concert went!!! That seems like a lot for a ticket!!! It will definitely be worth it to hear Mackenzie!!!

Mackenzie was amazing! She sang "Stupid Cupid" acapella, and got so much applause. She has a great voice and such stage presence! I really didn't know she was so talented! I'm very proud and so happy for her!
The main act was so good! Blues/jazz with a Christian theme. I haven't been to a live concert in a long time, and they rocked!!! They were amazing!
