Hair!!!
Okay there's a few posts here about haircuts, and I'm gonna add one more! I have long hair right now, and I was thinking of maybe cutting it. I had long hair my whole life until I moved away from home after high school and I chopped it all off! Some people liked it, some people didn't. I've went through a couple different styles since then, and now I don't know what to do. It's taken me two years to grow it out so I'm scared if I get it cut I'll hate it and miss my hair! It's funny I never really had that thought the first time I chopped it off!
My friends from back home have all moved to much bigger cities and have exciting lives and they all look SO DIFFERENT and grown up! I'm jealous! I love my hair long but I feel that it might make me look too young and I think I want a change. Anyways, I'm here to ask advice... how should I cut my hair? First pic is from May of this year (on the right), second is from a few years ago when I cut it really short (on the left), and it was just growing out. The last pic is me last week Hair's in a high ponytail but you can see how long it is even when it's up... right now it's almost to the backs of my elbows, and layered starting at about my shoulders.

Lindsey, you are a very pretty young lady. You will look great whatever doo you decide to go with. If you want to look older, shorter hair like you had a few years ago makes you look more mature.
It's strange, on younger people a blow dry cut an inch or two above the shoulders makes them look more mature. On most older women the same cut, as opposed to long hair, makes you look younger.

Aww thanks Marilyn! I really liked that picture with my short hair, but when I look back on the rest of them it didn't look that good. I don't think I would take the time to put it in curls like that every morning! I'm going to get it cut next Thursday I think.. I'll be done finals and my presentation, and I'll be able to surprise my boyfriend and parents on the weekend!

I personally like your hair better shorter. If you were to get it cut just below the chin line, maybe just a little longer I think it would be perfect!! I think the shorter style makes your face look softer, more elegant. There are many web-sites that have all different kinds of hairstyles. Some will let you upload a picture of yourself to try on different styles.

Thanks Janet! I was talking to my best friend last night (the other girl in both of those pictures.. she also decided to just go back to short hair) and she told me I should go "short with chunky layers" I think she's sick of seeing me with long hair!
After an exam I start writing in 20 minutes, I'm going to only have one final exam left on Monday so I think I'll take tonight off studying and look for some hair pictures I'm excited now!

Lindsey, you have such pretty coloring that you can get by with a short cut where some with very light hair can't. I like the shorter hair on you too. You're a cutie, and the short hair just gives you a more perky, fun look than the longer hair does.
Being small framed as you are, you don't want to have heaps of long hair overpowering you... I wish I had your size to work with!

Thanks everyone! I think I've felt long hair was better for me because I'm kind of on the tall side and I felt that long hair balanced that out. But I've decided to definitely go with a shorter cut between my shoulders and chin. I'm excited to not spend an hour drying and styling my hair every morning!

The shorter hair looks great! You have such pretty features you can do anything and look good! I agree with your friend about the short chunky layers.

You are very pretty and I am sure what ever you do it will be great, but if you do cut it make sure the hair stylist knows what they are doing and the shape of your face has everything to do with a good cut. i would look on line and see what is recamended for your shape face. i have a square face and it is not recamended to cut the hair above the jaw line...(Not like the hair dresser ever listened to me or anything!!!)
I would bring pictures of hair cuts you like when you go and also be very clear on where you want your hair to fall...Mine cut my hair about 3-4 inches to short! Show us pics when you get it done...

I had long hair when my daughter was born. It was down to my waist! I wish I had never cut it now. I cut it off shoulder length and I hated it. It is slowly growing back tho. You are young and it will grow back! LOL Thing is being so young you can do just about anything and it will look just fine.
