What are you getting your significant other for Christmas?
I thought I saw a thread for this already but I can't find it now! Maybe I'm losing my mind!
Well, today I was freaking out a little bit about what to get my boyfriend for Christmas. This is my first Christmas with him, and actually my first Christmas with a boyfriend in 4 years! I forgot how stressful it was. He sent an e-mail list of things he would like to both me and his parents, and I know he's expecting stuff from that list so I wanted to do something different! I was thinking of getting him a gift certificate for a sportbike place that he loves, but it's not biking season for another 5 months! So I'll leave that for his birthday. But then I just came up with the perfect idea... he's really outgoing and loves trying new things and having fun so there's this place called Vic's Vertical Walls.. it's a huge building where you learn to rock-climb, and they give lessons and everything. I'm going to get him a one-month membership so he can go as many times as he wants! I am so proud of myself for thinking of that lol... and he'll be surprised!! And of course, it's an excuse for me to go and learn too, since drop-in passes are pretty cheap So what are the rest of you getting for the men in your lives?

It's my first Christmas with my guy too, I had a hard enough time with his birthday, now I've got no clue what to get him!! He loves all things that have to do with firefighting, and he's got a maltese cross charm he likes that an ex gave him, so I was hunting around for one I could give him so he wouldn't wear that one anymore, but all I can find are really cheap looking ones!! I am giving him a blanket with a maltese cross with firefighting stuff kinda in the background, but I still wanna get him that charm....
I wish there was more time til Christmas!!!

If your bf is anything like my hubby, then he wants exactly what's on his list!!!! My hubby and I simply tell each other exactly what we want for Christmas...or even better...we go buy it ourselves and give it to the other person and say, "Hey, this is what you're getting me for Christmas."
If I were you, I would definately get your BF something off his list and then maybe get him some other small things as surprises.

My problem is I can't afford anything on his list! It's all like, digital video camera, or expensive parts for his bike that I don't even know what they are! He also told me if I'm getting something from the list to call his parents to make sure they aren't getting it too... I think I would rather get him something from me and my head than something he put in my head! Plus, I know he wants to try this place out, he suggested we try it out together when I move there (in 2 weeks!!) and it's definitely not something he would have thought of when making a christmas list.
... But now I might be having second thoughts...

His parents live hours away, I would never see them before Christmas. He told me it doesn't matter what I get him, and it's just the thought that counts. I guess I want him to think I've actually thought about it instead of just picking something from his list. I know he thought of what to get me all by himself and I can't wait for the surprise.

My S.O. hasn't even made a list yet. I told him he better get with it or he's just getting a gift card. All he said was...."where from?"....LMAO He or I neither one want or need anything really. I told my Mom I could use an assortment of thread for my sewing, but that's all I could think of.
My Mom hands out the exact same list to everyone so she'll make sure she gets what is on her list. It's up to us to call and find out what everyone else is getting her so we don't get her the same thing.

I always tell my husband exactly what I want and he never gets me any of them. But, I think this year he's finally listened. I ask him and it's ALWAYS..."I don't know." So, a couple of shirts, a laser leveler and some shoes. That's all I can think of so far.

Lindsey - I think the rock climbing thing sounds excellent especially if it's something you all can do together. I think he will appreciate that you thought of something creative. I say go for it.
RLS - again our husband's are so alike. He always has a plethera of stuff to choose from that I want & I never know of anything to get him. If he wants something he just goes out & buys it. we were gonna start a tradition where he bought his own present & wrapped & then I was surprised when he opened. But I'm very excited because I think I did awesome this year. My husband & I play slow pitch softball pretty much all summer. He bought himself a bat last year, but half way through the season he stopped using & now I use it instead. So I got him a new bat like the one he seemed to like to use of someone elses. I'm so excited because I've actually kept it a secret this year. It's at my mom's right now & I'm gonna wrap it & hide it at home. Then I'm gonna give him all his other presents & when he looks disappointment I'm gonna bring it out. I'm very excited. |

My husband just became a private pilot back in the summer. He put a lot of time into it so I bought him a license plague. Basically it is the front and back of his license blown up and put on a plague.

I ended up getting Greg a Dremel tool and attachments, (he's often said he'd like one) and 4 shirts (which he also said he needed). I figure even if he doesn't get me anything, I don't want him to be able to say I didn't try.

My hubby wanted a large tool chest for his garage. He saw one at Sams that he liked, so I went and bought it. It took two big guys to load it on my pickup, so when I got home, just told him I needed help unloading something. There is no way I was going to hide this. He was going to leave it alone once unloaded until Christmas, but I let him put it together this weekend. He is very happy with his new toy!!
