Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
It is currently -11F with a windchill of -20.
Tonight it's supposed to be -17F with a windchill of -30! It arrived late, but winter is definitely here!

It's not quite that bad here, but it might as well be. Tonight is suppose to be -2 degrees with a windchill near -15 I think. The wind is just howling out there and the house is much cooler.

Wow, I just can't imagine. It's lows in the 40's and highs in the 60's here. It finally stopped raining and was sunny for a while this weekend!!! We washed the SUV, or had it washed. Looks great!!!
Y'all can come visit if you like. Melissa went back to school, so her room is empty.

Got up this morning and it was -5 degrees with a windchill of -20. BRRRR is right Tink. I don't like it this cold. There are over 200 schools in Indiana with 2 hour delays and closings. Even the weather man said he didn't know why they didn't all close, because there won't be much difference in 2 hours, the high today is only going to be 9 degrees.
I was just wondering about the states that have cold winter winter for the norm. Do you all have 2 hour delays or are you all just use to it?

It's -22F here this morning with a windchill of -30, so amazingly they did cancel school today. We haven't had any snowdays this year, so I guess they figured they could afford it. LOL
Seriously, if just one bus broke down in this cold we'd have a lot of kids at risk, so I think it's great they decided to give them a break. Our school district is a rural one, so they do bus kids from about 20 miles in different directions on some very low traffic roads. Neither mine nor Katies car will start this morning. I'm trying to wake Joel to see if his might, so we can jump start the others.

To tell ya the truth, don't know if I would bother Tink. It's too cold and dangerous to venture out, so take a nice day off and enjoy!!

Janet, I agree.
I called in and took a vacation day. I have NO desire to go out in this cold and jumped at the chance to stay home when my Manager suggested it. Katie got her car started, so she just left. Thank God hubby left his truck running the past 2 days so he didn't have to worry about that.

That is absolutley horrible!! (unless you're one who likes that sorta stuff) Gosh, and I thought it was cold here?? I don't feel so bad now...We've been in the singe digits but never a "minus"... Our snow finally melted, now it's just MUD - can't keep vehicles clean as we live on miles of dirt road. All i've gotta say is "BRING ON SPRING!!" Oh also, my tulips have began to sprout and I wanna tell them "oh no, go back down, it's not time yet!!"

Hubby let his car run for 2 days??? Did he run out of gas? I think our wind chill was around 15 to 20 below today too! It's like you can feel it going right through you....I didn't used to mind the winter but, I find as I am getting older I could do with out it. I do like looking at the snow...I think the trees are so pretty all covered and it looks so clean....OK...back to summer now!

It was his semi tractor hubby left running. Since it runs on diesel, it gels up faster than gasoline, and is a nightmare to thaw back out. It costs between $650 - $800 to get a froze-up semi started again, and it's the driver that's responsible for that cost even if the truck belongs to a company. So it's by far less expensive to let them run when it's this cold.
The trucking company hubby drives for authorized him letting it run for those 2 days and it's THEM who pays for the fuel. LOL He does have a heater to plug the truck in, but in this extreme cold, it's not enough.
