Snowy

So how is the weather where you are? I live in NE Indiana and we are getting a very pretty fine snow. I know central Indiana is getting hit pretty good.
We are only suppose to get about an inch. My hubby left this afternoon for Iowa.
I talked to him a couple of hours ago. They turned around and are coming back home. The roads are really bad I guess. They have shut down the main interstate that comes though my county because of all the wrecks.
It's also -4 degrees out right now. BRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.

It's cold and snowing here too. Hubby just called and said he'd made it back through indiana and Illinois, so is headed across Wisconsin to Minnesota tonight. He heads to Missouri tomorrow.
He lucked out and got around the Chicago area without mishap. He did say there were some pile ups in that area with the nasty weather making the roads a mess.

I've learned not to worry about him in winter weather 'cause I believe he's wise enough to know when to just park it and wait it out. He's not one of those cowboy types who breezes past cars and ends up dirty-side up in the median. Driving a semi, he says it's too easy to cause an accident if you don't use your head.

I'm glad your hubby is taking the safe route as well.

We got about 5.2 inches when all was said and done with. It was a mess going to school to pick the kids up. Hwy 29, you couldn't tell if you were on the road or not. Once I got back out in the county, it was better..still snow, but safer. There were at times, near white-out conditions. It took me an extra 17 minutes to run my route. Not too bad.

I don't mind the snow, but I'm getting really tired of the mush! We had some rain this morning and now the mush is worse than ever. My Tahoe looks absolutely awful! It needs to be washed and I was waiting for the ice to melt off of my driveway but now everything is back to mush!!!

Tonight and tomorrow we are suppose to get up to 14 inches, maybe more. I'm not thrilled. I love being at home...but I don't like being STUCK at home. Hopefully we won't lose power. We do have a generator, but not sure if it would be hard on my computer or not. What good is it to be home, if I can't get on the computer...LOLOLOL

OMG Janet, I hope you don't get dumped on that bad!

It was warm enough here today that I had water dripping off my roof. The sun felt wonderful with the temp at 17 degrees! I know 17 sounds cold to many, but after the sub-zero temps we've been having, this is a treat!

Marilyn, you'd best be careful or you might have a bunch of us knocking on your door yet!

Well it's 10 am here this morning and if we're getting up to 14 inches, it better hurry. I can still see the ground. Now we do have drifts in the yard and around the vehicles that are 2-3 feet high. The wind is blowing soooo hard. I do have to admit though that it feels good just to be home. Guess I'll just stay inside and wait to see exactly how much we are going to get. The news is still calling for up to 14 inches and we are in a blizzard warning.

I have been keeping an eye on this storm...we went from 8 to 10 inches to 1 TO 2 FEET!! We live in a snow belt (Central Mass).....I told my husband a couple of months ago that we were going to get slammed...we have had a very unusaly winter...hardly any snow...I think so far this winter we might have gotten 4 inches....well, this storm is making up for it!. Looks like I'll be staying in and sewing!!

Be safe everyone!

well the electricity finally came back on, it went out a 7am and it's now 10:45. so that wasnt to bad, thank goodness i have 4 dogs to snuggle up to we just climbed in bed and they snuggled up all around me. oh i do have a husband but he's not much good to me , he's always to busy taking care of everyone else when things like this happpen. i'm just kidding though, he works for the county highway so he's out in this mess making sure people can get to where they have to, he loves it he would rather it be like this then to be out plowing when there is hardly anything on the ground. well i hope the electricity stays on the rest of the day.
