Need a name for our new *baby*

No no girls, not a yorkie LOL
Some time ago when we took Jolly, our cockatiel to the breeder/rescue to have her wings clipped, as she has free run of the house, and i don't want to grow her wings coz we have large windows, flying into them could really injure her.
Anyhow, while we were there, i asked them if i could put my name on the list for a baby cockatiel, a friend for Jolly. The breeder said it could take some time coz of the season.
This afternoon we got an unexpected call from the breeder to tell we have a baby, strange enough we bought her cage last week, but never expected it to happen so soon.
He said we could come have a look today, or tomorrow, ofcourse i HAD to go today. She has been tammed, and is soooooooooooooooooo SWEET!! I attached a pic of her, and Jolly, the darker one in the first pic is the baby.
Any idea's for a name is welcome!

Is it a boy or girl...I had a male and female cockateil their names were Bonnie and Clyde...If it's a boy you could name him roger...you know like Jolly Roger!

Congratulations Mandy on your new addition.

I have been afraid of birds since I was a very young girl. I wish I could get over it, but don't think I ever will. I'm even afraid of dead or fake birds, can you believe it? It doesn't matter what kind of bird, pets, chickens, ducks, you name it, I'm deathly afraid of them.

I do have feeders up for the yellow finches, we had 7 pair last summer, but they are outside and I'm inside. We also have feeders up for Hummingbirds. I never wanted my son to be afraid of them like I am, so we have had feeders up since he was small. I don't know for sure why I am afraid, but I don't like their eyes, beaks and feet the most. That sure sounded dumb...lol but I am just afraid of every bit of them.

Can I ask a question??? If they have free run of the house, does that mean they are trained to potty somewhere? Are there potty trained birds?

How pretty she is! They both are actually!
I love the colors on birds. I'm not real wide awake yet so no names pop to mind. LOL

Enjoy her!

Thanks ladies. I think i like the name Molly, it goes nicely with Jolly, and Holly.... i like Holly too... LOL
Janet, i open Jolly's cage in the am, she climbs out, and sits on top, or get's off, and walks around. Thank goodness the dogs are good with them. The baby still needs a lot of handling, she can't have toys in her cage yet, and is still on her baby food for the next month.
They potty in their cages, unless they walk around... we have kleenex at hand.

Since I'm so afraid of birds, I really know nothing about them, so I'll be asking you questions once in awhile, like this one....how come the baby can't have toys? Do they just walk around on the floor? Do they fly at all in the house?

I can't imagine having a bird in my house, I would go absolutely nuts. One time my brother put a fake bird in front of my face and I peed my pants and fainted. I am soooo afraid of them, but I think I am getting better...at least I can look at them now.

Oh, I almost forgot...hubby had to work today so I got on our lawn tractor and cleared snow from the driveway again..(we got another 4 inches of the darn white stuff). I noticed all the little sparrows and wrens looking for food, so I took them some of the bird seed we had and they went nuts. They were so hungry, with all the snow on the ground, it's hard for them to find anything. I may be afraid of them, but I don't want them to suffer.

Janet, she is not supose to have toys in her cage until she is used to climbing, and the cage. Now i don't know about this one tho, she is way too intelligent for her own good.
We left for our trip last week, and came home today, while we were away we left the birds in my mom's care, i kept daily contact with her, to find out how she was doing, my mom absolutly loves her, and keeps telling me what an adorable little creature she is.
Knowing my mom, both birds will be spoiled rotten LOL - she already told me that the baby bosses her around.
We name the baby Maxima

Janet, you can also put some fried meat left overs like bacon out for the wild birds, they thrive of the fat of meat in winter.

Thanks for the advice Mandy, I didn't know that about wild birds. I really wish I wasn't afraid of them. I've tried, really I have, but I just can't get passed it for some reason.

The lady that used to watch my son when he was very little had an African Grey Parrot. That bird picked up my laugh (sometimes I cackle..LOL) and it drove her husband nuts....ha ha ha I was able to be in the same room with it, but whenever they thought of getting him out, I had to leave....hey, I just now thought of it, maybe that's what they wanted.

Mandy, I was thinking of a name but didn't come up with anything other than "Rancher" , which I didn't think was too good of a name so I was still thinking and now you've already come up with a name........Oh, well!!! Molly is a cute name. We have an airdale named Mollee and she's a sweetheart!!!

Your cockateils are so pretty. We had one once, and really enjoyed her. We did have a problem with the feather dust, and it yelled when my hubby was trying to watch TV. She wanted all the attention. We started putting her outside on the porch in the evenings once in a while, our climate is mild enough that it was alright. One night I forgot to bring her back in, and something attacked her during the night an tore one of her wings. We took her to the vet, and he patched her up, but she died later that day. I felt sooo bad. I love birds, but they are so messy I don't think we'll have another one. Our girls were small, so her name was Baby.

One time, Baby flew out the door, circled the house and was gone. We clipped her feathers but they had grown out more than I realized. I put an ad in the paper and a family a few blocks away had birds and found Baby. They made us describe her before we could even come and see if it was her. She flew right to us when we got there so they know she was ours.

She crushed one of my earrings once. Their beaks are sooo strong. Incredible creatures. I really like them a lot except for the mess.

LOL Gina, ofcourse you can be the godmother!

I used to have a bird phobia, i was soooooo scared of them, i never wanted a bird, but my son kept on, and on. He bought Jolly the first one with he's own pocket money, i knew i had to overcome this fear if i wanted to take proper care of her, you know kids, they want things, but how long does it last? So my husband helped me, in a hard way i may tell ya LOL - i was laying on a sunbed out in the garden, while he had her on he's shoulder. he was busy working, so he placed her on the footend of the bed, i freaked out, but had to stay calm, didnt want to frighten the bird. She started climbing on my foot, i was beside myself, couldnt scream, no voice LOL - my husband came, sat next to me, and she slowly walked towards me, well that broke the ice, and from there on, i tried touching her everyday, from day 1, she liked me, but i "hated" her, i couldnt do that to any animal, having her live with us, but giving her no attention, nah, i couldnt.
She's lovely now, and the baby is freakin naughty LOL

Marilyn, i have a cage that doesnt let the seads fall thru the bars, so it doesnt mess, i hated the first cage, there was always seads all over the place!
