Public proposals

My niece Colleen was proposed to on the Oprah show, where she works.
There's a picture of it here on the Oprah site if anyone cares to see it.

Colleen was totally blown away when he proposed on the show. I personally would have been mortified in her position.

I'm wondering if anyonehere was proposed to publicly? How did you react?

I read that on the website and pretty much started crying, I read it to Mum and my voice started to shake a bit, I think I'd die of happiness if that were me!!!

I've yet to be proposed to but when I do I'll be sure to let you all know about it!!!

I always watch Oprah, don't remember that show specifically, but it may have happened in what they call "after the show."

I hear they're very happy together. Their wedding was a very elaborate affair, with the honeymoon in Africa.

Dh's sister was also proposed to in a very public setting. She was drama teacher at a catholic school, so her guy proposed on stage after a play. Gregs family just ooohs and aahhs when this stuff happens, and I personally think it's putting someone in one heck of a spot! I wouldn't have reacted nicely had he done that to me. Maybe I'm just not the romantic type. LOL

Aww, that's so sweet. I'm with you though Tink. I think I would've been mortified if I'd been proposed to in a huge public setting. I wouldn't trade our nice private romantic proposal on New Year's Eve for anything.
