My Husband's Sweet too!

Things haven't been going too well lately with my husband and me so when I went out of town for the weekend to visit family I left a book laying out called "The Five Love Languages" for my husband to read.

He's a very slow reader but finally he's made it to the point where he understands what some of the problem is. Anyway, he went out of town to a doctor's appointment and did a little shopping at Wal-mart and a farm store. When he got home he had a lot of little surprises for me! He got me a York Mint Patty because he thought that I really enjoyed them, a hummingbird feeder and food for it, and a small shovel to help me plant flowers.

Also, he had made me a bouquet out of weeds and sprayed it with his aftershave!!! I'll post a picture of it because it was kinda' pretty!

Then, since it had rained, he took me out to eat at our favorite restaurant where we ordered crab legs (yummy) and then we went to see "Pirates of the Carribbean III". It ended up the meal and movie didn't cost us anything. We had gift certificates from our birthdays for the restaurant and, since my son owns the theater, we didn't have to pay to get in.

In reading the "The Five Love Languages" I felt that it really understood what I was feeling and I'm glad that it seems to be helping out. I highly recommend that everyone read this book because it can really help to understand our fustrations with other relationships.

Diana, I'm so glad the book helped and that he was willing to read it and act accordingly!
I think it's a good thing when we fertilize our relationships every once in a while to keep them interesting and growing.

Aww, Diana, what a sweet hubby you have! I'm so glad he did so many things to surprise you! Maybe you could do something special for him in return. I'm sure that would really make his day.

I've also read the Five Love Languages with my husband. We read it together before we got married and took the quizzes that tell you what your love language is. I think it has been a great asset to our marriage and I too recommend it for anyone!

That is the sweetest bouquet I think I've ever seen. It comes from the heart. I'm happy that you're feeling better about things. It really helps when they put forth an effort.

I've really been having a hard time with my marriage, but some subjects are just too hard to post out in the open. My husband is a really wonderful man, he's very loving and very giving. The book really helped me to realize why I wasn't happy or feeling loved. My need is for quality time and I've never felt that he had time for me. Hopefully things are going to get better with us. I truly married my best friend and as I said, thing are going to get better.

I am so happy you've found something to work for you and your marriage. I wish so much that I hadn't posted so much about my marriage in an open forum...but hey, I've learned my lesson. I'm not going to do that anymore unless something happens that I have to let it out or burst...lol. I'm such an open book to my friends and family, that I forget what kind of impression it leaaves with people who don't really know me...like on an open forum. Live and learn. Hopefully, I've learned.

Janet, I think that it helps to have someone to talk to. All of my friends are friends of both my husband and I so talking to them is really hard to do. My husband is a really wonderful guy but nobody else lives with him so for me to complain it just looks like I really shouldn't have any thing to gripe about. My complaints sound really unreasonable to all those that are around me.

I wanted to talk to everyone on here but, as I said, I'm not crazy doing it on a public forum. I can't tell you how much I've cried and hurt the last few weeks. Things are some better, but it's going to take quite a while to really feel like I'm happy in my marriage. It always seems like two steps forward and three steps back!

Don't quit talking to us about your marriage, Janet. You know that we're concerned for you and care about your feelings. If you need to talk but don't want to on the open forum then send me a pm and we'll talk privately. It helps to have someone who understands.

Diana, I'm so sorry you're going through the same thing. I really hate the thought of someone feeling as I do and it sounds like you do. I shouldn't have posted it all on an open forum, you were much smarter than I, but my friends and family think the same thing...that I don't have anything to complain about.

I do have faith, I have my son, and my Yorkies....and it looks like I have my freinds here at 4WT. You all really have no idea how much I care for you all.

Thanks Mandy, I appreciate your post. I usually don't beat around the bush for sure. It's gotten me into trouble a few times, so I am getting a little better at thinking before speaking. Now if I could only think before typing and then read the darn thing before I hit the submit button...
