I Have Had It!!!!!!!!

Right now I'm sick and tired of my little yorkie, Reuger!!!!! My daughter's lab mix is in heat and they just let her run. Well, she's usually here, at my house which drives Reuger mad. He wants in and then he wants out.

We usually let him run because we live well off of the road but the other day he followed her around and was covered from head to paws with stick-tights!!! I spent about an hour getting them out!!

Now he's started marking in the house! After a couple of days of that I pulled out the belly-bands and he's put them to good use!! I've always thought that I might get into breeding but I can't take it anymore. When we get back from vacation I'm going to get him fixed!!!

I just had to let off steam. I'm so tired of him, in and out, in and out. Whining and barking, running from window to window!!!! GGGGGGGRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!! Ok, I think that I feel a little better now!!

Aww, I'm sorry you're a little frustrated right now. I guess that happens from time to time, but as soon as he cuddles up to you and starts giving you those sweet little yorkie kisses, you'll forget all about the bad stuff.

Hope things get better soon!

I know how you feel Diana. My maltese Chipper is not very well behaved. It really gets frustrating and he is always making a mess in the house. I have gotten so fed up I would get rid of him if my nine year old wasn't so attached. Then he does something really cute and I forget about it for a while...till he gets in trouble again.
But I can't lie--I love him anyway.

Typical male I guess. I'm sure it'll pass soon.

Is it better when the lab isn't around? Have you tried distancing them as much as you can?

You could go for Labraorkies. If you hold him up, it might just work. You may have the latest in designer dogs. Wonder what the pups would look like.

Yes, Diana, when there's a female in heat within a mile radius that's about all those boys can think of. Moses has been in and out for the past week but he's at least getting his needs satisfied so isn't all frustrated about it. He gets to go out and mark large circles about where his harem is contained to ward off any other males who might think about coing over, so he's not marking IN the house thank God.
If you don't plan to breed him it would be easier on you both if you just get him fixed. That will put an end to all this craziness.

ROFL Marilyn, I like your style.

Diana, just thought you might want to know that even if he's fixed, the desire and wacko behaviour doesn't always stop. They can even tie...they just shoot blanks.

I thought that if I had him fixed that it would take away all of the mating problems. Boogers!!!!

I did have my son-in-law come and get their dog and chain her up at their house. He's acting a little bit calmer today. I think that should help some for now.

Maybe teach him to climb a ladder?

Seriously, a friends Dad put their shetland pony in the back of a pick up truck and backed a full sized horse up to it so they'd get a nice smaller-sized horse for the kids. LOL It did work, but seemed rather extreme to me. He had 4 dds outgrowing that pony so I guess he made do with what he had to work with. lol

awww poor thing! I have been very lucky with Diesel. We have at least 2 females that have gone in heat who live about 2 city blocks from us. He never pays them any attention at all. If you get him fixed it might at least help with the marking in the house. I can certainly see how it would drive you crazy!

I've heard of Yorkie breeders having to hold up a tiny male to help him breed a larger female. Just depends on how bad you want the pups.

I like the story about the pony and the horse. Artificial insemination would have been a lot easier with animals that large. Men can think of the strangest ways to get a job done!!!!

Max was neutered and his doggie day care "Mommy" told me he spent the day a couple of weeks ago chasing and mounting a little Maltese.

I think holding up the little horse to tie with the big horse is really the best way . I wish I had been there to see that! In this case, I have to say, I think the guy way makes more sense.

It's easier more efficient, no vets or technical equipment needed....and who was going to get the sperm to inseminate her? and how? Not a guy!

My Joey would follow Emilee around and if she would stop I was afraid he'd end up with his head up her butt! With Gidget, he wasn't so intense on following her everywhere. He never cries or whines for her...he just won't leave her alone. Does get on ones nerves, but It doesn't last for long.
