Pilates anyone?
I have been wanting a pilates machine, just trying to decide which one to get.
Plus wondering if I will stick with it! Anybody have one? Like it? Recommend? QVC has one on today for TSV, it looks good, think I am going to order it. I have got to sart some kind of exercise program. I think that the pilates machine will be perfect for me, I love the fact that it is low impact with great results. |

Good luck with the machine. I've always heard not to waste money on 'contraptions'...LOL. I use to buy all different kinds, but now I just have a treadmill. Need to get on it though.

My daughter uses her treadmill to hang coats on. (Don't tell her I said that)

Yeah, I hang clothes on it to air dry, usually just one or two items. I really need to get on that thing.

I have an exercise chair right here in my computer room. It's blue and looks awful with the red carpet. Maybe I should hang clothes from it - It might be more useful.
I hope you get more use out of your Pilates machine!

I have never heard of a Pilates machine, I thought Pilates was a series of intense movements to isolate strengthen your core?
I would LOVE to own a Fluidity bar though! |

My Mom let me borrow her treadmill because she doesn't have room for it right now. It's still sitting in the middle of my bedroom making it hard to get around the bed. I turned the light off the other night and tripped and fell on it! Guess I need to get it placed somewhere else!!!! Maybe today!!!

Here is a link to see what this is like: http://www.staminaproducts.com/produ...55-4650&SPEC=Y Works kind of like the Total Gym using your own body weight for resistance. Check it out, you'll be surprised by what it can do. Might like it! |

The gym where we go offered a Pilates class with the machines. I never took it because it was way to expensive. Spinning (indoor cycling) and other classes are included in your membership, but pilates was extra. If I remember right, it was $125/week or something outrageous like that. It sounded like a really good workout though and would like to have tried it.
If you get the machine, let me know how you like it.

I wouldn't waste money on the machine. All you need is the big rubber ball, the stretch band and a good dvd. My daughter has been doing pilates for a few months. I tried it once....wanted to die! I didn't even finish it. But it is an excellent workout.

I really need to exercise, but I just don't do it alone. I love exercising with a friend or with a group, I'm just not going to pay to go someplace to exercise when I could do it at home. I just need to get off my butt and do it.

I've never liked to exercise. Now, I have an auto immune disease and I can't do much in the way of physical activity. One of my docs suggested mild, beginer pilates. HUH! I couldn't have done that stuff before I got sick, forget now!

I have a treadmill for the winter months, and summer we are walking every chance we get, i grab my baby and off we go, i think pushing a 30 lb baby is building my arm muscles too.. I love being outside, it also gives me a chance to see some of my new neighbors.
