Good grief what a nightmare!!! What a terrible feeling it must be, knowing a stranger was in your house going through your personal things!!!!
Thank God your Mom wasnt home when those jerks decide to target her home!

Janet, so sorry that this happened to your mom and to you as well. We've had several things stolen over the years from our home and our car. Never a break in though. It's sooo frustrating and upsetting. We do everything right and things like this happen. It's hard to believe that these people have no conscience.
You might consider putting an extra deadbolt lock on her outside doors and make sure all her window locks work. It may even be good to consider a security system. These guys will probably leave her alone now though. They got what they wanted and know she has no more to take. Wish you all the best!!

All Mom's locks have been checked, cleaned and made sure to work properly now. We are having deadbolts put in also. She slept a little better last night than she did Sun or Mon night, but she only slept till 4 AM.
The so called detective hasn't contacted her yet. So if the wacko doesn't today, I will contact his butt tomorrow. I'm so tired of the Frankfort Keystone Cops not doing anything but thinking up ways to antagonize the Mayor. Geez....do the job you're being paid for coppers!

We had to deal with the police not too long ago when there was a theft at our branch. It took a couple of weeks or more before a detective was assigned to the case. We learned of the theft in October of last year and the person who committed the crime was just sentenced this past week to repay 1/4th the value of what he stole, $50 to Crime Stoppers and he is on 5 years deferred probation which means if he meets the terms of his probation, he will have no criminal record. It's just unbelievable.
Janet, you will have to stay on top of them to get anything done. That's what I had to do. Kept calling the detective, kept calling the DA's office to stay on top of things.

Thanks Marilyn...I'll do exactly that. I'm just tired of my Mom having to deal with health problems and then this burglary. On top of the the bank and now the police. They screwed up thousands of years ago, by not making a woman in charge....LOLOL
