Went to Manhattan on Monday
I had a 10AM appointment with my dentist on Monday, so I set the clock for 5 AM. I was going to leave at 6, but decided that it was still dark, and therefore, the middle of the night. So I left at 7:00. Of course, I was an hour late because once I got to the George Washington Bridge, traffic came to a slow crawl.
I have to go back in 2 weeks for something ???, and then have to have a gum transplant a couple of weeks later. My gum doesn't quite cover one implant completely, so, cosmetically, it is not good enough. I am not looking forward to gum surgery because that's a really sensitive area. It looks like I won't be finished as soon as we thought. I guess I can add at least months more in, because they just work so slowly. I will be done by summer. I have forgotten how convenient it is to have actual stores all around you, and to be able to just run in and buy something. I also realized that going down to New Jersey every once in a while is a great way to shop. There are malls and then more malls along some of the highways. I also forgot how to drive in the city. There were so many places to go, and so many signs, that I got onto the FDR north using the exit! I'm sure I confused a several drivers, but once I had begun, I wasn't backing up! Luckily, there were no cops around. I got home and was so happy to see my house and my dogs.

All that dental work doesn't sound fun at all! But I have to say I am jealous of you getting to be in Manhattan so often! I have actually been having dreams about NYC constantly since I was there... I think it's a sign I need to go back I should really take my mom. She loves shopping as much as I do!

Judy, you are so funny. I can just see you out there driving and hearing your laugh....I love it!!!
Gum surgery doesn't sound like fun at all. Hope it won't be too painful for you. Not so close shopping is the only thing that bothers me about living in the country. If I need something, let's say for cooking....I have to drive all the way to town. It's only about 15 -20 minutes, but still not convenient. I don't have any money...lol...but I've sure been in the mood to go shopping...lolol.

Going into the city always sounds like an adventure!! I can't imagine driving in that traffic. Dae Lynn drove in Chicago. I could have done it but at a much lower speed!!! It was a little overwhelming at times!
I drive in Wichita quite easily, but it's never an adventure. The worst that I run into is road construction!!!! Wichita has been working on their main street into town for years. It's going to be really nice IF they ever get it done!!!
