A Bad Scare This Morning.......

We got a call this morning from Dae Lynn with her being very upset. I guess that Karlie got up this morning, came in the living room, and said that she couldn't breathe. She has really bad episodes of asthma once in a while. Dae Lynn started giving her a breathing treatment right away but during the treatment she stopped breathing for a while. Dae Lynn called us and headed for the hospital. I was still in bed when Glen came in and told me then he left. I was running around trying to find some fast clothes to put on. I was sure praying on my way to town........and not just for Karlie......but that I wouldn't run into a policeman!!! I was way, way over the speed limit!!

By the time I got to the hospital Karlie was doing better. They gave her a couple more breathing treatments and did some blood work. She has an infection and broncitis. Usually we kinda' know when she's not good because she'll be having trouble before bedtime but she didn't have any signs this time. We're all breathing a huge sigh of relief that she's doing much better.

Oh Diana... what a shock for you all, i am so glad she is ok and doing well. I bet your daughter was in a real panic - i know i would have been, it is just awful when somthing is wrong with our children.

I will keep praying she will continue to recover her experience.

Oh my goodness Diana!! I am so glad that little Karlie is okay. I bet poor Dae Lyn was beside herself! Asthma is a terrible thing to have to deal with too. My brother always had problems with it.

Thank God she is okay Diana! What a scare! Asthma is very frightening!

I will pray for her to get better soon, and that her asthma never
does this to her again.

We don't have asthma problems in our family so it is all new to us. Dae Lynn has been dealing with it pretty good. Her knowledge in working at the pharmacy has helped her a lot in dealing with this. She's had a time or two where she and Karlie have been up all night doing breathing treatments because she was so bad.

Dae Lynn was questioning herself about even going to the hospital because Karlie calmed down when they got there and could breathe better but I told her that she did the right thing.

Karlie looks like she has a rash around her eyes and it's caused by broken blood vessels from coughing so hard........I know that Dae Lynn did the right thing.

It seems like these problems always come up when Damon is in jail. Oh, he went to court a couple of weeks ago and he can get out on work release (for a month) during the day so he's been working.....in fact, he made it to the hospital to be with Karlie. Things are looking better but Dae Lynn is still worried about trusting him and I don't blame her. They have some things to work out. So....it looks like they won't be living with us and I think that's probably for the best.

Yes thank God that she is alright.. Having a bad asthma attack must be very frightening for an adult let alone a poor innocent child.. Never a dull moment.. Your poor daughter too.. I am glad that she is feeling better..

I'm guessing Karlie is your grandaughter, excuse me if I'm mistaken. I hope she's feeling much better.

I'm sorry you and your family have to experience asthma, hopefully it will lessen on the long run.

Yes, Jessica. Karlie is my step-granddaughter....actually. She's four and just keeps us in stitches and we couldn't love her any more even if she were blood related!!! She has captured this grandma's heart!! Stay with us and I'll probably have stories and picture some time soon!!!

I am praying for Damon to stay on the right track. They all need to be together, with no stress, as a happy family. He is in my heart, as are DaeLyn and Karlie, and little Baby Dean.
