I have a stranger problem!!

I'm kind of embarrassed to even post this, but i don't know what to do.
Normally i don't dream when i sleep, but for the past few months i have been having like a violent dream, no story to it that i can remember, and the bad part is that hubby usually wakes me up because i am hitting him or kicking him or i yell out very loudly, one night i dove out of bed face first into the xpen next to my bed where Serena sleeps, I am sure i scared her to death, i do remember that one because i was trying to jump out of the way of a train coming straight at me.
I know hubby is tired of getting beat up in the middle of the night and i am not sure how to stop it, i don't take any kind of meds and don't want to start.
I do have things on my mind but it's not beating people up, well maybe a couple people LOL

I feel so bad for Keith, i keep telling him how sorry i am, any suggestions?

I know some medications can cause crazy dreams, have you started taking any new meds? If not, then I think stress or things like that can cause crazy dreams. I don't know much about them, but maybe someone does. I'm sure that is very unpleasant!

Wow Lynne...that has got to be tough. Maybe it's just stress. I mean you have alot going on...your Mom, work, home, dogs, x son-in-law. Maybe it's practice for beating the crap out of him....lol. Hope they stop soon...not only for you, but Keith too.

I'm not of any help either Lynne. Have you tried researching it online? I'm a googler lol! I sure hope the dreams stop soon. I'm sure you feel just terrible and your husband too. I will say a prayer for you Lynne.

There has to be a cause, either from meds or mental stress about something. Maybe you could write a journal for a few weeks and get to the bottom of what is causing these dreams. Like Gayle said though, maybe it is from medication.

That's a great idea Judy....

You could also write what you do remember or what Keith hears you say during the dreams.

This is what I would do for my kids when they were little and had bad dreams.......we would pray that they wouldn't have bad dreams before they went to sleep. It worked for us.......you may want to try that. Good luck and I'll pray about it too.

I am, and always have been a vivid dreamer. Just as you are falling asleep at night, tell yourself that you want to remember your dream. Put paper and a pen beside your bed so you can write down anything you remember, even if it's in the middle of the night. Sounds to me like life (the big, fast powerful train) is trying to run you over, and you are trying to keep yourself safe.

I'm sure hubby hates to get beat up but I'm sure he doesn't blame you.

Try this link it was passed on to me.

Actually I think I saw it on YorkieTalk

I think you need to go to bed relaxed and thinking of positive thoughts. Maybe a bubblebath or a nice massage to relax your nerves.

You might want to consider Happy Pills for a short period of time.

Thank you all for your suggestions. I had another episode just last night, so Friday night i had one and last night i had one, thats the shortest time span that i have had between them. I woke up so sore today, hubby said i was thrashing around and kicking, but don't think i kicked him.

I don't take any kind of meds, so that is not the problem, maybe i need to take some LOL, not really i don't take pills unless i have no other choice. I don't remember any kind of dreaming, i even took a nap yesterday afternoon so don't feel i was overly tired.
I'm just afraid i will hurt hubby one of these night.
Thanks again.
