Breast Exams

Do you do monthly breast exams? I'm guilty of not doing them. It's not that I don't think about it, I guess you could say that I'm just too lazy to mess with them.

Yes definitely!!! I always check once a week when I'm taking a shower. I just wouldn't want to deal with cancer. I'm usually the strong one in my family and they just need me to be there. I know I'm going to sound hypocritial here, but even though I don't want cancer, I won't have a colonoscopy. I should, I know, but that stuff you have to drink to clean you out is so disgusting I can't get it down. If they could come up with something else to clean us out, then I would have that procedure done too.

Smile listen to "Grammy".... (okiegal)

I could be your mother or grandmother....but please please listen.

I am alive today because I found my tumor.......I was between mammograms....and layed across the bed with my arms raised above my head......The moment I felt It I knew it was cancer. I could even see the size of it when I lay flat.......terrifying......

In a recent cancer support magagzine....it is estimated that over 70% are found by the woman.....

After 2 surgeries, chemotherapy, radiation, the loss of my shoulder length brown hair.......I was found to be cancer free.....for now.....

I watch my body carefully.....Thank you God for the time I have been given....I don't plan on wasting it....too much to do and people to meet.

Don't feel like the lone "non-voter" Amber, it won't let me vote either but - I'm guilty of not checking regularly either. I get the mammograms once a year (now that I'm over 40) but I don't do the self-exam like I should.

Everyone needs to be checking!! And don't neglect the mamograms. I skipped a couple and when I went in late February, they found a lump that was too small to feel, but large enought to kick everyone at the hospital into high gear. Weirdest "routine" mamogram I ever had. Thankfully after a biopsy and lumpectory they determined that it was not cancer, yet. But was I kicking myself for skipping those mamograms.
